The route that I put together for His Wheatness does go out to Coalinga so we can hit the steak joint (name?) there or just get sammiches and have a picnic along the road (there's a nice park along Old Coalinga Rd.). B)

I'm up for just getting sammiches and having a picnic along the road somewheres...
I've started doing this on a regular basis on group rides... it's actually much more relaxing, don't have to deal with waiting for food, can have good conversation, and enjoy the world around you without a lot of ambient noise. :D

And easier on the pocketbook too... ;)

Both beemerboy and king Richard have more money then I got.... but I would buy ya a meal there, just for the experience.

we can buy a sammitch later and sit a ditch along the road .... singing songs and playing spin the bottle... hahahahaha

So Mark as we are getting mighty close now do we have any finalized routes yet?

More specifically what the hell is the planned route for Friday the 20th?

+1, Gunny; Thank You, Richard!

I see 2 Friday routes now posted!

The "Wheaton Twins" are Goofy!

And I do not mean you, Karl!

I definitely mean Greg and Mark!

EDIT: If he hasn't done 229 by then, we can hit that along the way... twice. :D

+1, Gunny; Great Route, Tyler! I am sure glad that you are both The Brains and The Beauty of this Illini-Kali Rolling Cluster Feck!

I like Tyler's route...but if you guys want to shorten it up...that's fine, too. Quite frankly, I will ride with Tyler anywhere. How often does one have a chance to do that? :)

I'll have had Wednesday and Thursday to take shorter days so we should be okay rest wise.

I will have kind of a half day on Wednesday and have the Trooper Mod done at KJs.

We'll get some route going up and back along HWY 1 on Thursday...depending on which way the map blows, and how airboss and I are doing.

So whatever Tyler wants to do, and is able to do is fine with me. This scheduling and planning and redoing both puts extra stress on her...and I don't want to do that. Making all these arrangements is a pain in the @ss...so wherever is fine with me.

Just don't change the route cuz Richard is whining...I'm understanding that to be a regular occurance... ;)

Bow to the Royal Fairlanerness!!!

Just kidding Richard. :clapping:

(no I'm not)

+1, Gunny; that's the truth, as we FJR Forum Irish always say: "You can't live with the English, and you can't live with the English!" What do you mean "kidding"???

But alas, the present plan is to head back in three days, cuz I'm not an ironbutter like airboss. That route will take us more southern...heading east on US50 and then on to I70, then my highlight...I80...so I can tour Omaha. I hear it's lovely this time of year.
what.the.hell.

It is not. The best part about Omaha is seeing it in your rearview mirror.

There are some construction zones on I-80 between omahell and Des Moines. Down to two lanes and 55mph (warning), but otherwise it wasn't bad. Just one spot on I-680 before omahell, just before you merge with I-29 south. Nothing major and I wouldn't expect a serious slowdown.

Remember to salute properly as you're passing through.
