Our LD35 spot couples a Cree Mt-G2 Emitter with a large reflector to provide long distance lighting, and a wide field of view, from a 3 and 1/4 inch light that only uses 22 watts of power. The two pictures below show two LR5's compared to two H4 Silverstar highbeams. These were taken with a DSLR with the same manual settings. The farthest trees out on the tree line are roughly 500 feet. These lights literally turn night into day and rip through the trees! Unfortunately the trees were in the way so the full potential can't be seen.

May I ask how they compare to:

Compared to the lights you linked (I have a set I took off my bike sitting in the garage as a matter of fact), they put out a lot more light. I believe that unit uses 3 XP-G series LED's (max output is about 450 Lumens per emitter). Our lights use 4 XM-L series LEDs that can be driven to ~950 Lumens. The lights I am selling would compare to their quad cree XM-L T6 lights (I have a set of those as well ). I compared them side by side earlier as a matter of fact. Light output difference was not visible to my naked eye. I preferred the beam pattern on our lights, it's a bit tighter due to better optics design. The build quality on our lights is better as well, and I think they looks better. These are coming out of the same factory that makes fenix and other top end flashlights. Anyway - I'll leave it at that. I'm not trying to bash a competitor's product. The above is my opinion testing them side by side. Order a set, if you don't agree, I'll take them back .

If your looking for "down range" punch, then I'd suggest the LR6 series. I run a set of the LR4 quad cree floods and a set of the LR62 spots. The floods put out 3000+ Lumens each and the spots put out 1500+ Lumens each. But, don't be fooled by Lumen ratings. Those are measured at the source for the raw number. The reflector design on the 2x Cree XM-L T6 LR6 puts more light down range. But it's a 15 degree pattern, so not much side illumination. A pair of LR4 floods are good to about 800 feet with lots of side fill. A pair of the LR6 will put light out to over 1500 feet. The combination I run is the best of both worlds. I'll be getting a new shipment of the LR series lights next week with 1, 2 or 4 LED configurations. Order both and keep the one you like better .

What's the wattage requirement? (Forgive my lack of electrical knowledge)

I assume that these do not come with a dimmer?

Numbers aren't a complete picture, you need to see how the reflector design projects the light too. That said, by the numbers:

• LR4 floods puts out significantly more lumens than the ADVmonster Model 44 flood but also draws more current. These two are the same price during the sale, but the LR4 cost less with the discount.
• LR4 floods puts out notably less lumens than the ADVmonster Model 60 flood and still draws slightly more current. The ADVmonster lights cost more than the LR4 lights to get the extra light.

The LR4 worst case wattage is 35W (each) @ 14.0 volts. That would be a total of 70W @ 14.0 volts, and 60W @ 12 volts.

LED driving light suppliers carry LED controllers like ADVmonster, or the controller is included like the Clear Water lights.

I'm currently a new ADVmonster Model 44 user that hasn't had enough opportunity to really review the lights but I do have some comments:

• you definitely need a dimmer
• you definitely should have a high beam trigger
• the ADVmonster wireless controller is a nuisance to carry, doesn't allow fine enough brightness control and lets the lights turn on with the ignition unless you add a headlight triggered relay for power
• do look for a knob adjustable dimmer with an on/off switch and high beam trigger because the knob makes it easy to know what the brightness setting is and lets you control the brightness better than the wireless controller
• when mounted off of the mirrors you loose some day time conspicuousness unless turned way up, then they are too bright for dim light or dark use
• even the 2,000 lumen lights look like stadium lighting when used with high beams at night, you can not have these on with oncoming traffic or someone in front of you
• the ADVmonster lights were an electrically good kit and easy to install into the power distribution that I already had in place; and comes with a Posi Lock to tap the high beam yellow wire; mechanically it needed some hardware to complete the install
• the ADVmonster lights were really easy to mount to my (now former PIAA halogen driving light) brackets and very adjustable
• the lightweight housing does not vibrate or flicker the lights because their weight does not tax the brackets
• I would expect just about everything good said above would be true with the LR4 lights that Justin is offering

The wattage requirement is going to be 30-35 watts each depending on your charging system voltage. They do not come with a dimmer (I'm working on getting one). I'd recommend the Skene Designs IQ 170/175 smart dimmer. And you're welcome .

Yeah, reflector design plays a role in out the front Lumens. And published numbers around the internet are all over the place. I deal in honest, realistic numbers. I'll leave it at that.

are these capable of being mounted on the fender bolts?

any dimensions from the mounting bracket to the outside of the light? I want something that doesn't stick out very far, similar to the clearwater mount.

Yes, you can mount them to the fender bolt. Dimensions are 54mm Diameter, and 72mm length. There is an 18mm standoff from the bottom of the mounting "foot" to the light.

But, I personally would not put these in an unsprung location due to the brightness and vibration. I think it would be too much on the eyes. I have a shipment of Mini-Leds on the way that are a much better option for fender mounting. They are a single 10 Watt LED in a 25 degree pattern, @1000 lumen output. . Should have them in mid next week.

Anyway you could post a couple of pictures of the lights on at night to show the beam pattern and downrange reach?

I was looking at the Skeen Designs dimmer here CLICKY. It did not specify HOW it dims the lights. I know that my Clearwater Kristas are "dimmed" by a controller that cycles them on and off a couple hundred times per second. I'm not sure how this Skeen Designs dimer works ????

I'd imagine that it uses pulse width modulation like any other LED dimmer.

I spent a great deal of time at Skeen Designs site picking a controller. They really could use a chart to show the options each model has or has not.

I ended up getting the IQ-175 as this is the only model that allows 2 brightness settings (with low beam) toggled by a momentary ground.

I would have liked to had the alert feature (IQ-170-A and 175-A) but this was more important to me.

So I'll have 100% on hi beam (or off if in fog light mode) and a double tap on the button will toggle between 2 preset levels from 0 - 100% on low beam.

I didn't want to add a switch, the button is already there.
