    Tourer

If your new to the bike and it's hurting after such a short distance, chances are you're a bit tense and you're fighting the bike.

    Coonamble Amble

Mate - Nice write-up and great pics. You've gone through some of my favourite country. I rode from Corryong back to Melbourne this afternoon and I'm knocking back a bottle of red enjoying your trip Good stuff. Planning a few days on the Fleurieau in a month or so. Love the McLarenvale...

    Jacket for my Wife.

My two cents worth... You're either looking for something black, shiny and latex or else a straight jacket :yahoo: ... There ain't much middle ground my friend

    Pre-flight mantra / affirmation?

My ritual is simply getting dressed. The process of putting on back protectors, leathers, gloves and a helmet is a sort of "preparation for battle" that centres my head on what I've got to do.

The Colors down here are different and so are the bikes...

Thanks Orange - It was a cool looking bike, but the FJR changed my mind about what a great bike is. Anyway I'm about to get to know about that a whole lot better. Four more days and I have a month off. It's summer, it's hot and dry...so we'll mix up coast and mountain country. ...and...

The Colors down here are different and so are the bikes...

Hey Thug - By the sound of it, your backyard's the gateway to thousands of k's of the best roads in Aus... The 'other side' of Hotham is one of my favourites - a side I've mainly done up and over from Harrietville...before a stop at the Brown Cow in Omeo for a coffee and toastie... I've only...

The Colors down here are different and so are the bikes...

So you work...and you get to a point where you'd rather not be working...so you jump on the bike a few times a year...and take some pics... Thought you might like these...the lighting's way different "down under" in the good months...and I've learned that you don't get these bikes in the...

    XJR-1300

Didn't realise you didn't have it either...here's a few pics of my last bike...XJR1300 SP... My favourite quote about this bike came from a UK magazine that likened putting Ohlins rears on the XJR, to putting a Dolce & Gabbana shirt on a south-side bouncer... Anyhoo... Monaro Highway between...

Deer Strike - WARNING GRAHPIC OIX

    Bit of Aus' Swervery

Mate - the whole alpine National Park to the west of this road is now closed, while the Alpine Way is only open to fire crews past Omeo. That shot was taken between Dinner Plain and Hotham Village which are still both OK so fingers crossed. Craig's hut was a bit of a way South East from...

How about a saftey tip from each member?

    A. Ride by the four S's, in order of importance 1. Sight: Position yourself to maximise lines of sight to and from other road users 2. Space: Get as much of it as possible around you 3. Surface: Just be aware of variations in road surface - on road and off to the side 4. Speed...

    Bit of Aus' Swervery

The road's like this for about 80 k's from Omeo and over the top of Mt Hotham. If this one works, I'll bang a whole lot o' others through taken from same ride so here's hoping... https://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q157/cr.../Picture237.jpg

Touring screen for FJR any Aussies

Hey Jacko - Yamaha dealers offer a taller windscreen option on 06 models - I got the spiel when I picked mine up recently.

    06 Needs New FI Map

Another Aussie 06 with no noticeable surging...(Well the bike's fine while the rider's popping and banging all over the place but I won't bother you with that). I was interested in the comment as to whether the ECU's might be set-up differently on Aus market bikes - but I would have thought...
