Cav, they only do the party on Friday night at Falcone. I'll be there, probably have on a black BMW hat with my name and last year's BMW miles on the back. (photo below). Stop me and say Hi. The Indy Mile flat track race at the fairgrounds has been moved back to Friday night, it's usually...

Who's the '14 FJR at the MOA National Rally ?

I was parked over in front of the Indianapolis BMW Club tent for the weekend (club camping). And I met the 2 K16 guys in your last photo (black shirt and blue/grey with back to camera) at the IBA pizza party.

    Going to the Dark Side

I'll certainly thank you Justin. I'm new to the darkside. Yokohama Avid Envigor at 33 psi as recommended by Justin. Less than 100 miles on it at this point, but pleased. It's a little self correcting in light leans like lane changes, but when you push it into a turn it goes without question.

    Ordering automotive parts.

+1 for rockauto. However, an axle is going to have a core charge. I've gotten one from rockauto, but i don't remember if the cost to ship the core was on me or not. For this, I'd recommend a local such as AutoZone.

Are the PR4's living up to their billing?

I didn't mean same as the PR3, only relative as the PR3/PR3B to the PR4/PR4GT. Looking on the Michelin site, they show the same load rating number from the 4 and 4GT. They do however recommend the 4GT. Time will tell, but the 4 has been worth it to me.

Are the PR4's living up to their billing?

My understanding was the GT is the sames as the PR3 B spec tire. Made for the heavier loaded bikes. Might we worth it for a lot of 2up, but when i'm 2up, it's a kid on the back. Though tool box, aux fuel, etc, about the same. I went with the standard PR4 and except the odd wear on the front...

Are the PR4's living up to their billing?

Thanks Brodie, got a Yoko sitting waiting for the PR4 to wear out. After 120k on my 68hp BMW, I figured I should get used to the FJR in factory configuration first.

Are the PR4's living up to their billing?

Yeah, was talking to someone about the PR4 and he said the 2 biggest factors in tire wear were acceleration and braking. The 2 things the FJR is good for, and part of it's fun factor. It's just a matter of finding the right balance between fun and wear rate.

Are the PR4's living up to their billing?

I got the FJR as a sport touring bike heavy on the touring part. I'm a long distance rider not a sport rider, looking for something with more power for the long hauls than my 92 BMW K75. The FJR definitely fit the bill. If I'm riding across the country, I don't want to have to stop and change...

Are the PR4's living up to their billing?

I don't have anything to compare them to, but the wear on my PR4s isn't that bad. I put them on the day I brought it home after buying it used and the factory Metzelers were shot. I did notice a little bit of an odd wear (cupping) on the front tire, so i upped the pressures from 36/40 to 40/42...
