I had one sidecase do the splits like yours a few years ago. Easy fix with the right adhesive (can't remember what I used, but I put in LOTS) - No repeat on the schizophrenia.

I did the same and still have slightly jumpy TBS readings. Now, to 'calm' them further, I bump idle up to around 1150-1200

Another thing that helps calm the jumpiness is to do the TBS at a slightly faster idle - somewhere in the 1100 - 1200 RPM range.

Also a big +1 for the Cycleport gear. Unlike SacMike and DCarver, I do like the liners for cold. The rain liner plus quilted liner in the jacket keeps me toasty on chilly rides. Biggest downside for me is I can't make the gear fit in the sidecase, which is about the only attribute I really miss...

Might want to check in your little glove box before you return to the shop. I had a rattle that drove me to distraction on long rides - until I took my pocket knife out of that plastic box...
