    Blue Flame EVO

Maybe I should remove the baffles on the Remus cans I bought @ WFO-6.... just to hear a little of that rumble. :)

Safety training article and turn signals

I use a headlight modulator but back to the turn signals. I noticed it's hard to see that the turn signal is on when the sun is shining on the instrument panel on my 05. After the turn I normally cancel the signal a couple of time just to make sure. :) I use the turn signals but add a hand...

Any other poker players in da house?

Good luck. I've watched quite a bit of the game on TV and the internet but I think I'll stick to bridge. I've been playing bridge for 20 years and enjoy it very much.

    Motor officer gets clobbered

Texas has had a law on the books for a year or so requiring traffic to slow 20 mph below the speed limit if in the right lane when passing an emergency vehicle that is on the right shoulder. It's OK to maintain speed if you can change into a lane farther left. Seems to be working around here...

Gen II Busa speedometer vs GPS readings

+1 as well. The Garmin 2610 works well. I do have a Vapor computer (speedo/tach/ODO/etc) on the KLX250s. Easy to calabrate and dead on accurate speed & odometer.

    Cruel Trick by Mother Nature

Cool (by Houston standards) and clear this morning in the big city. Last night there was a bit of thunder and rain as that big front moved through although there were no tornados around here.

How to ride a "new to me" bike home legally

When I bought my 02 DL1000 last year from a guy in SC we exchanged cash for the bike and the bikes title duly signed. I was stopped near Albany, Texas for going a little too fast and after the officer ran the plate and questioned my ownership I showed him the signed SC title. He gave me a...

    FJR@DTS Ride Report

Best give SWMBO the complete attention she deserves. :) Congrats on your new ride. 3 1/2 years after getting my FJR I'm still in love with it.

Never mind... Saw the thread on just that topic.

    2007 ecu installiation

So did the new ECU fix your throttle response problems? Glad to hear Yamaha is stepping up to the plate to replace ECUs on affected bikes. My 05 still is running strong at 36000 miles. :)

Do people ask you what your bike is??

My 05 has a Tanji aux tank. I get all kinds of questions about the aux tank as it sort of STANDS OUT on the back of the bike. When I tell them I have a range of about 450 miles on a tank they of course ask how I could possibly stay on a bike that long. :)

    Gas Cap Modification

When I first installed my aux tank (Tanji) I would open the aux tank after the fuel gauge went down a couple bars. Over the next 60 miles the gauge would slowly go back up to full then start to go down again. All normal. In the last year or so it hasn't been doing that. Only once coming back...

    MOST EXPENSIVE BULB EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet bike WC. Bet the 08 FJR is going to look nice in black too. Don't think I'll be trading my '05 in though. :)

    We Lost a Friend

I met Andrew at WFO-6. I have one picture of him in the registration room when I was signing in. He had the biggest smile that I've ever seen. That is the memory I have of him. RIP Andrew.

    roiscuba goes down

I found codeine does wonders for the pain. Those new black FJRs sure look nice. You probably got the road rash from the bottom of the pants riding up your leg exposing the skin.

    which auto chain oiler

I put a Hawk Oiler on my CBR929 in 2001. Currently have 25749 miles on the bike & the chain. It still looks in great shape. I oil the chain at every refueling (about 140 miles). I've heard of one rider getting about 40000 miles out of an o-ring chain by using a chain oiler and keeping the...

    Lane "Sharing" Anonymous

Cost me $60 a couple years ago here in Texas. Illegal lane use or some such. I was just splitting between the cars at a red light. Guess someone got on a cell phone and called it in. I don't do that here anymore.

    Did I get the itch?

I got a short ride on a Versys Friday. Would be a great all-round bike. Handles the city streets with ease. Loved the feel of the suspension. I just can't justify a 4th bike right now. :)
