    Pre-flight mantra / affirmation?

Mine usually goes like this. Damn these short legs. Back it out of the garage slowly. Grr, tippy toes again. Why didn't my legs get longer over night. Off to the side. Grr... stupid short legs. Ok, ok... throttle it up, u-turn out of the driveway. There ya go. I should get a turntable for the...

Photos of new rear LED setups in action

Folks don't like their plates so easily read online fearing someone with ill-intents might do something untoward. Er... that sounds pretentious and yuppie, doesn't it? How about this... People don't want ******** reading their plates. :)

    Heated Grips Summary

That is *exactly* what has scared me away from using the element-type heaters and made me buy the (crappy) Big Bike Parts heated grips. I should note I also have the textile Gerbings gloves, so it's not a critical thing that I get the grips perfect.

Pictures to accompany EXPDSGT's handlebar mod writeup

Just thought I'd come back to this thread for a moment to check in. I'm just about to clock 7k miles on the bike, and the handlebars are still exactly where they were torqued down months ago. I had a few moments last night after all the Christmas festivities were over, so I slapped a torque...

    Opinions on ST1300 vs FJR

I waffled on the ST1300 for almost a year. I snatched up the FJR the hour it hit the showroom floor. The St1300 is a damn fine machine. The FJR is just all around a little better (and yes, I rode some STs during my shopping). You won't be disappointed with the ST at all. I just find the FJR to...

    Comparing FZ1 to Feejr

The Gen-1 FZ-1 is an excellent ride. More friendly (from what I understand) than the '06 Gen-2s. I've ridden two Gen-1 FZ-1s and found them to completely enjoyable and wickedly sporty bikes. I have not ridden a Gen-2, but the word is "just buy the R1". There are still plenty of excellent...

    GTR1400=ZX forum

Eh, it's a tough road. On the one hand anyone who buys the C14 and expects a perfect machine is being silly. It's a first-year model that has been kept largely out of the public arena thru' the whole R&D cycle. It's bound to have issues ranging from "this part isn't quite right" to "and I was...

    It's all mine now.

Agreed on the classes. I'm looking at doing the Spencer school and the Keith Code school over the next two years *thumbs up*

Thinking about taking my teenage son cross-country

Yes. Do it. I encourage my kids to take acceptable risks in life in order to live that life. Sheltered kids = John Wayne Gacey when they grow up. Ok, that's probably over the top, but yes... take him on that trip. He'll remember it forever.

    Like Sidecars

Sometimes I just shake my head and mutter "thanks" to the universe and good genetics that I'm not a complete flippin' moron.

    FJR Dash/Shelf 06-07

What's the final pricing on this? I would be interested in the dash, Garmin mount, Sunshade for Garmin 2610. Thanks.

To hang off the bike in turns, or not

I've taken the Parks class. For the last few months I've been consciously blending my riding styles between the various books, classes, etc. I routinely break one of the Parks rules about not shifting weight/position in turns. Sometimes you have have to adjust. I also pull my body back up...

To hang off the bike in turns, or not

Caught me on a bad day. Normally I spark more in the right hand turns.

My apologies for being "over the edge".

It's a fine line between confidence and cockiness. I never really noticed you crossing the line. But then, I'm the confident sort, too ;)
