    New Garmin Motorcycle GPS

I'm not rushing to replace my $300 Quest. But the features look cool, especially traffic. Now if I could find a Bluetooth helmet...

    New Garmin Motorcycle GPS

It's called the zumo 550. It looks interesting, but the MSRP ain't cheap. https://www.garmin.com/products/zumo/

What's the best GPS in your opinion

I like my Garmin Quest. It's small and compact. For me, the extra size (and cost) of larger models didn't help me get to my locations and faster.

    FJR doesn't start

That's harsh, ionbeam. LOL. The shop replaced the fouled plugs, replaced the throttle position sensor, reset the computer. Yamaha picked up the tab (Thanks, Y.E.S.!) including the $120 tow, and the mechanic even balanced the throttle bodies while he had the bike apart. It's running perfectly...

Just got my new corbin seat.....:)

That's a gorgeous $500 seat. At a grand, no friggin' way.

    New Smuggler from FSD

++ (ok, I'm a geek) Price needs to be right, easy swap between pillion seat and smuggler, colors/fits for each year, and I'm very, very interested. Ideas: Helmet lock! 12V outlet inside, to charge cell phone

    FJR doesn't start

That sounds PRECISELY like my problem. If you do take it to the dealer, have him call Brian at Houston Motorsports (281-890-2020) and tell him that your FJR is doing the same thing as Albert's was; he should know the procedure for the fix. P.S. Mine's ready today; picking it up after work. Yay!

    FJR doesn't start

Now they're waiting on a replacement Throttle Position Sensor; their diagnostics said mine was bad. I admire their thoroughness, but I'm ready to have my FJR back before it becomes July and August in Texas.

    considering a used FJR.....but now???

If I were shopping for another bike, and FJR would be at the top of a (very) short list.

    FJR doesn't start

Another update. It turns out that the code for the tip-over was in the history. According to Yamaha, it has to be cleared, or it can prevent the bike from starting. (Nice way to get you into the dealer, huh?) The dealer reset the code. The dealer found fouled plugs, replaced them, and it...

    FJR doesn't start

Just 70 degrees? The canyon carvers must hate that. LOL. What's odd is that this tripped two years later, when the bike is on its side stand.

    FJR doesn't start

Just got off the phone with the service writer. The error code was for the tip-over sensor. The bike was dropped about two year ago (parking garage gate arm malfunctioned and knocked me and my ex off the bike, lawsuit still pending against the garage on the fiasco) According to the service...

    FJR doesn't start

It was at home and wouldn't start, so I called the dealer. They referred me to a bike towing company (guy with a big van) who brought it in to them. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll relay the info to them. They're supposed to run diagnostics on it today. I'm dealing with Brian at...

    FJR doesn't start

It's still at the dealer's right now. We'll see what he says.

    FJR doesn't start

I put my 2004 ABS model in the shop on Wednesday. I went out to ride, and went to start it up as usual. Normally, the FJR starts after less than a second of cranking; fuel injection is truly remarkable. This time, it just cranked and cranked; after about 15 seconds I gave up rather than drain...

    Garmin Quest on '04

I never ran across the mount you've shown; what's the source?

    Garmin Quest on '04

It's available, but I didn't install it. I just recharge the Quest at night. I've found that I get a weekend's worth of riding from one charge.

    No it's not a BMW

I've heard the same thing dozens of times... "Whatizzit? A BMW?" "Nice BMW." The best was about a week ago, from a thirtysomething man trying to be cool around his girlfriend "Is that a Harley?" Seriously. I smiled, and shook my head. He was just too easy of a target.

    Garmin Quest on '04

After much procrastination (um, I meant "research") I finally decided on the Touratech solution to mount a Garmin Quest on my FJR. Installation was easy; took about 15 minutes. On the bike: Mounting Detail: Rider's perspective:
