    Inexpensive tire recommendation?

I go with Pirelli Angels. I'm on my 3rd set. Haven't tried the new ones yet but I like the old ones a lot. Last set I just replaced got 7k out of the front and 8k out of the back. I used to run Conti Road Attacks and liked them but they just didn't last. These have similar handling and last a...

Show me your dual sports, folks

Well if you have to have a beemer, well, to each his own. But if you just want to ride, the old Yamaha XT's are damn good bikes. I bought my 85 XT600 in 2002, paid $700 for it, $600 for the shock, $200 for the Supertrapp. I bet I have just as much fun on it as I would a beemer. But I ride it...

    Yamaha's Woes

Yamaha should consider bringing some of the other models they already make to the US too. They should at least offer them special order. Just have to ship them to the US instead. Check this out: https://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/Images/...cm26-296753.pdf All four of these bikes look pretty...

    Advice on notebook purchase.

I've had a Dell Vostro 1400 for over a year and I really like it. Paid $700 for it at the time. I also still have a Dell Inspiron 8000 that I bought in 2001 my wife still uses every day.

    Conti Motion

Yeah. That's what I like about them. Makes the bike feel lighter to me. It does take some time to get used to though. Be sure to adjust your suspension for you and watch the front tire pressure. I had read somewhere on-line the Conti factory riders recommended 36psi in the front for a FJR. I...

    Conti Motion

I am also a Conti lover. I have gone through about 7 sets of road attacks so far. Even on my old UJM's I ran continentals. I haven't heard of the motions, must be a new tire.

    Colorado Weather in May?

While anything is possible it will be very nice. Keep in mind to, even if we do get snow, the next day will probably be in the 70's at least. More that likely any snow will melt very fast. In my opinion, the end of May is the choice time. The thunderstorms aren't as frequent as they are later...

Beware of taking that leak along side the road

That's too bad. That makes the sex offenders list less useful. I wonder if mooning someone will get you on the list? :dribble:

    Colorado in early May

Not likely but you can't rule it out entirely. https://cbs4denver.com/local/snow.denver.storm.2.713072.html

    Colorado Weather in May?

It should be beautiful, but you never know. Even if its not so good higher up there are lots of good riding roads at the lower elevations. :drinks:

G2 Ergo Throttle Tube and Cam

I got an 08 with about 12k miles. I dunno. I just twist the grip and it goes. I am bummed my throttle rocker fell off right when the stoplight turned green though. :arrowheadsmiley: No more cruise control. :drinks:

    Cruise Ship Outruns Pirate Scum

I went on a tour of a merchant marine ship not to long ago and the First Mate told us that they were not allowed to arm themselves. Only the Capt and the First Mate wore side arms. I couldn't believe it. :dribble: Looks like Blackwater might be providing security around Somalia...

    Radar detector's against laser

The cigarette lighters in the vehicles I own are not limited to 12v. My detector can show the voltage measured at the socket and it will go 13+. I don't know what he difference between a hard wire and the cig lighter would be. Better connections? good ground? Straight wire vs coiled? :) typ0

    space junkies

That's cool. I do depot maintenance on the GEODSS sites that collect much of the data for the satellite orbits. This article has some info about them if you're interested (but it gets a little deep at times). https://www.defenselink.mil/transformation/.../ta050106a.html This is one of mt...
