I see the 10 n' 10 is now well underway with most of the competitors transmitting SPOT GPS coordinates for the world to see.

See the position report via SPOTWalla Position Report. I've also aggregated some information at my blog here.

We, obviously, have a number of forum dwellers participating. Let's keep real names out of it until the rally's over and everybody's safely done please...hint...hint.

Good luck to the FJRs...and all riders!

I've been watching the all-rider map on and off today. Cool to see the riders scatter throughout the day, and interesting to see the routes unfold.

I didn't know Spotwalla could track a bunch of riders on one map. Helluva lot easier than opening a dozen separate tabs.

I thought I heard at the 1088 you were in this, sucks about not having enough vaca.

This is going to be fun! [popcorn smiley]

Jason's "all rider" page is certainly entertaining to watch. It will be even more fun as the riders disperse and then return.

I believe there's a checkpoint in Kansas or Nebraska...on the 4th day. So, watch ducks migrating that way Monday.

Fully onboard with watching the events unfold.

Just remember - NO OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE to the riders.. to do so is BAD for the rider...

I read somewhere that the CP is Sidney, Nebraska.

It will be great fun watching the homing pigeons make their turn and wend their various ways to the CP. Can't wait to see bonus listings for this rally.

Judging by the number of riders around Reno.. I'm guessing John had a little gathering and busted out the Tehkillya - and he drank water.

17000+ views on the SPOTTracking report! This thing is seriously being watched!

And our RenoJohn is posting some great LIVE stuff at his blog. My favorite is HIM letting a cop off with a warning. That's silly-fun that only our RJ can dream up. ;)

And I'm watching our own Bionic Pelvis ride hard and smart. There are many days left of the rally, but keep an eye on that CW icon. She could surprise us all. :clapping:

Wild times! Fascinating to see how they're all spread out in every direction: New Jersey, North Carolina, British Columbia (or is that Alberta?), El Paso. There's so much I don't know about this activity, but it is damn interesting to see how so many folks approached it so differently. Watching with great interest.

And that's largely dependent on the rally packet they're all privy to...and we're not. My guess is there's deliberately not an "obvious" route...or small number of routes....there seems to be lots of permutations on this one. You could see most people descend on the Reno area yesterday and it was probably a high point bonus obvious to the field. Or the folks back east must see a combination that's different than the west coast clump.

They also had 30 days to refine their route choices and probably individualize to their riding style.

Usually I'm in these things myself....but it's GREAT to be able to sit back and watch for once. And if one gets into it....RJ's blog really drops some helpful hints about the packet.

I was "Concerned" when I saw RJ in Vegas on a Friday night... but I see he found his way out.

Hey Bungie...I told that cop what you said. When you are in NM for that other Rally, he's gonna Taze you in the nutz.

I cannot believe he let RJ go. What a puss!

Maybe if I'm quick he'll miss and hit me in the taint.

Good pic AJ! :) Way to support the Mera riders.

Between the tracks and the blogs, a wanna be can learn quite a bit.

If this does not make you wanna ride you might as well sell your bike!

................... To me for a backup at a ridiculously low price....... :p

Sure, I'll do that. I have a 84 Cagiva WXM WR for you... that'll test yer mettle! :)

Interesting to follow and watch - RJ's blog is is pretty cool. :yahoo:

I understand the IBA does not keep track of "Records"...

Butt right now I am wondering what the record is for Number of LEO encounters during a time frame of...

say one rally(?)

Is there any point adjustments for those nonbonus stops?

Whatever it is....it's not close to being broken in this rally. Attending Bob Higdon's IBR history presentation recently one such contender from the 80's and double-nickled speed limit was highlighted as contender of such an honor. He was well into two fists of performance awards...including two from the exact same cop.....on two different legs of the rally!

Don't know about this particular rally, but in various Utah 1088 rallies the RM would award points for an unmolested envelope containing your sealed license and other documents.

Checking SPOT and RJ's blog...he's running pretty tight with what seems a plan. I bet we see him get a few hours sleep tonight and get into the checkpoint area of Sidney, Nebraska for an arrival between breakfast and lunch tomorrow. We'll be see the rubber band pulling everybody there with JJ and DJ needing to get a move on!
