Packed the bike up last night. Everything is ready to go I will be heading out Friday morning about 0400. I am going to ride a little in the mountains on Saturday before heading into Denver. Then Tech on Sunday.

I added an extra Pelican case for maps. Do you know how much space it takes for 48 state maps and 2 US maps?

I was rear ended on my way to Denver on Wednesday morning.

Made it to Denver, bike running fine. Damage to headlights and plastic. Right bag got knocked off, lock is broken.

See story in "FJR specific" section. Will take some work to pass tech inspection. Need anyone with knowledge of the front end to help out.

I'm at the Marriott room 500.

Anyone able to help will be warmly received.

Great news.

The bike has been completely repaired and is ready for tech inspection.

A team of us worked all day on the bike in the Marriott parking lot and got it back to a functional state. Can't say enough about the effort put out by Mark Reiss, Jacques and Jennifer from Quebec, Cameron, Perry, and a fellow called John who ran to Home Depot for us several times.

Tremendous support from people I either didn't know, or hardly knew, will mean the difference between me competing or not competing.

Thank you guys, outstanding job.

Even RenoJohn sent condolensces via Brian Roberts when he heard the bike had an "incident". I'm convinced this bike has nine lives though.

The bike will make the start. No problem. The rider will be itching to get going.

What an amazing story. GREAT job to Peter and all those who helped him. There is no killing that bike, -I can promise you that from first-and experience.

And Peter is a great guy, when he bought the bike a few months back, he flew into Renoville a day early and we got to spend some together -at what a treat for me to spend some time with Peter. I continually suggested he take the bike for a test ride -and he refused, no interest.

Then time came for him to head home ....first time he put the kickstand up on the bike: --> He rode it 3400miles home in well under 3days. LOL

*That* story should tell you a bit about Peter.

Getting the bike back together after this adventure on his way to the IBR5K should tell you even more.

NO doubt who i'm rooting for in this rally ----and from watching the pace me guesses that Peter is doing pretty well. Trust me, that bike loves to run so it's a great pair.

Rooting for Peter as well. Really good guy - I'm just glad to see he's got a new set of license plates on the bike from the last time I saw it! That old plate would've got his ass kicked by FJR riders AND BMW koolaid drinkers

No FJR's in the top10 at this point, seems that the FJR's days as competitive rally bike are over ...statisticly speaking, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but in this rally so far you won't be able to back it up with fact.

On the other hand, Honda has 5 of the top 10 positions. -or 50%

30% of top ten at this point are BMW

--->10% of top ten are V-strom *650* .... Yes, The one Girlie Flavor of the fugly bike that is entered in this rally is currently outperforming all NINE FJR's in the rally.

Quit your whining, you sound like little girl. All I'm doing is giving you the facts of this rally at the checkpoint.

The fact is: Out out of all FJR's, there is not a single one currently in the top 10. Top 10 is dominated by Honda and there is a GIRLIE strom in the mix as well.

Those are just the facts, apparently you can't handle them?

I'm certainly up for that ...and let's hope MamaYama moves forward on the Gen3, not another step backwards as they did on the Gen2. Uhh, like lighter not heavier, like faster not slower, like more reliable not plagued with issues that can leave you stranded .....

Yep, a step forward on the Gen3 would be a good thing.

You must factor in that some of the top FJR riders are sitting this one out and waiting for the BIG

dance next year. Iggy and Scooter would both be top 10, not to mention a few others. See the spank

results just last week. Matt's worst showing so far this year has been 2nd.
