Back hard at work on a Monday morning. So I was googling the Best Western in Caldwell. Google places it up the road away by the fairgrounds. Street view verifies it's NOT by the fairgrounds. Street view verifies it's at the main intersection.

I plan on pulling out of Sudbury at the crack of **** all and will try to be at the hotel for 7-8pm. The big variable is the border crossing.

Ya know, if I didn't have those two big *** lakes directly between me and Caldwell, it'd be an easy day ride down.
See you there...we'll have a cold one waitin for ya laugh at you as you ride by the hotel twice while we drink beer that could otherwise be yours
Fixed it for ya...

No sweat geek. Glad to provide some entertainment. I plan on stopping at the duty free and strapping down a box of Molson's finest. I also have a 12 pack that I don't ever remember buying. Funny thing, their in these little stubby bottles. Vintage beer at it's finest. It's my special gift to you. :D

Okay bungie,

Geek gets a special prise. What special surprise am I getting?

Forget about it, you can tell me latter.

T-minus 3 days until road trip. :yahoo:
I'm happy that I got a new front tire slapped on up at Tech Day IV last weekend. Now, the FJR doesn't handle like a dump truck! Yippee!!

And, oh yeah - I'm glad I figured out my weird intermittent starting issue. Moral of the story: when it comes to working on things, yes, I am an *****.

As much as I would LOVE to make this trip it isn't in the cards. I am officially out. The good news is that it is only 8 and a wake up before I leave for Breaks. :yahoo:

Oh, BTW, spend the next couple of days looking at post #1.

Review my informal code of conduct (summary - don't be a jackwagon at the motel or on the roads),

and review the route and route turns...there are no designated leaders, so your group MAY elect YOU to be that leader,

Get your emergency contact information together so you can share it with your fellow group members.

Look forward to a good time! :clapping:

Thanks for the headsup.

You obviously know what a great time you will have at Breaks.

hahah! Ya, that's gonna happen :D

See you and everybody else Friday night Wheatness.

First trip of the year, and I've got to do a 12 hr straight shot.. it's gonna be a long day... but WORTH IT!

As much as others ***** and complain and poke fun at you...they are all like little girls and are afraid to lead. Thus, the many opportunities for you to lead in the past.

I'm putting odds at 50/50 for you leading this year.

...and the same odds at you staying on the designated ramble route.

True that. I can't tell you the number of times everybody stood around saying "I'm not leading!" while daylight was burning. Piss on that mess. I jump on my bike and go. If you want to follow, follow, but no guarantees.

As for those odds. I didn't know you thought that highly of me :D

You can lead our group, so that when we go around in circles I am not blamed.

See Steve....it's already happening. I give you increased odds 75/25 of being the ride leader again. :)

It's always easier to follow and point out other's errors than it is to lead and make them. :D

I lead the first group last year with no GPS. Just a list of turns by route nember. The printout, coutesy of OFace, is still in the map pocket on the top of my tank bag. I think most everyone in my group had ridden the roads before, but didn't want to lead. I only missed 2 turns. The only time I wasn't leading was when Flowback decided he needed to break the centry mark and let us hear those nice pipes as he went by.

I can lead but most people prolly won't want me to. I have this really weird self preservation thing where if I can't see where I'm going through a turn, I slow way the hell down so that my braking distance and my sight line are the same. Guess I'm not one of the guys who likes to blast into a turn sight line be damned. Besides, even riding like I do I can still blow a line.

Oh - and Bungie - there's this really great road in southern Ohio I saw on Google. I know right where it is. Or, at least where it should be... Maybe... :)
