Red Lodge Steak Dinner

As previously announced there will be a Steak Dinner on Saturday Night at the Chateau Rouge

The local Lions Club will provide the dinner, they are finalizing their price/costs etc and as soon as I have $$ I'll post a signup thread and a PayPal account for payments. I really want to handle this via PayPal as I want to ride and not **** around with Steak Dinner $$ on Friday and Saturday

There is a local brewery which I've been in contact with to obtain some kegs like we did in Spearfish. I'm going to ask for donations to cover the cost of the beer. There are No Motorcycle dealers in Red Lodge to step up and donate the beer like we had in Spearfish last year.

Only 5 weekends to go!

Hey John, when you make that other thread for a sign up sheet for the dead cow and barley soda thing, be sure to throw the link in here. Lately I have not had the time to spend on the forum like I should.

So I think I am going to the pig races on Thurs (to watch- not to participate this time), then the steak dinner on Satuday. My fridge in the RV is getting more room!

Last year I left Yellowstone by the gate near Lake Y--the East Gate? Southeast? Nice ride to Cody, then I headed for the Chief Joseph, which I'd never ridden S to N--and looking forward to it. Got to the crest of the hill and . . . flagman. Followed the damn pilot car at about 15 all the way down.

On the plus side, at least now--no more tar snakes on the Chief Joseph! .

Well was hoping the wife would join us but work says no go. I have a "pull out in a studio available". at the Chateau.

Let me know

Man, I'm looking forward to this Rendezvous!

But work calls, and it turns out that I have to insert a 3 day sojourn to Ottawa in the middle of my trip. I have a Sunday 11am flight out of Billings on 6/26, returning late evening on Wed 6/29. I'm planning to park the bike in long term airport parking for those 3 days. Not necessarily the best practice, IMHO.

So I was wondering if anyone could suggest perhaps some better parking arrangement? (Oh, and not going to Ottawa is not really an option.

Thanks!

Since I got a new to me 550 Garmin and have used the Tyre program with reasonable success to SEOR, I am beginning to plan some routes. Anyone want to add to the routes that John posted up earlier in the thread?

thanks

I prefer the Rand McNally version of the Garmin. I'm an old guy.

OK-- I'll confess: I have a 550 also. But I can't help but love my paper. Plus: have you ever tried wiping your butt out in the middle of nowhere with a Garmin of any type? Multi-task is my motto.

Like I said, I'm an old guy. You do what you gotta do, when you gotta do it, where you gotta do it.

Paper maps combined with Google, Tyre, and Garmin seem like what all the kool kids are doing now!

I like my paper atlas as well, but ......Wiping your butt with a map seems a little too boy scout always prepared for me. Just put a half roll of TP in there!!

Carry on Zzzip!!
