I started this thread as a place for everyone to discuss travel plans and link up points. So many of us will be taking a couple of days to get to EOM and travel home. This will give us a place to discuss and look for fellow riders to meet up with along the way.

Right now, tentive plans for me are to depart Michigan Monday morning, slab to Toledo, then stick to two lanes the rest of the way and arrive in Hendersonville Wednesday night. I've not zeroed in on an LZ for either night yet, but Lewisburg, WV is high on the list as there's a certain "Applachian American" we usually visit on our fall trip.

I had been discussing some travel plans on the main thread & jumped over here to talk about it.

This is what I have to say to Joe & Bob... I will be riding out with Jay. He & I haven't talked in depth about our ride plans, yet. Speaking for myself, if I were leaving Wednesday night, I'd be more apt to stay in Meadows of Dan which is right on 58 & intersects the BRP.It would make sense for us to intercept you ON the BRP instead of us overshooting the BRP to the west when we both live east of it. which brings up another question... where do you plan on intercepting the BRP? I'd think that meeting you somewhere on the BRP on Thursday morning is more likely than us riding to Hillsville on Wednesday night. But, that's just me.

Heidi, I think Bob mentioned intesepting the BRP in Fancy Gap
You got it Joe. We would just shoot down 52 to Fancy Gap. I will be going through MOD on my way there. It really isn't much farther to Hillsville. The accomodations in Hillsville made the difference. Got Super 8 for $62. Split two ways that isn't much more than camping!

Heidi - Where are you guys going to stay Wed night? We can set up a time to meet at Fancy Gap in the morning.

Planning to leave Rocky Mount Thursday morning and tell the GPS to not take highways....that's about the extent of my route plan so far. :D

mvette and I are riding up together from the New Orleans area

he came out of retirement and is a working stiff with Wed-Sun off

so our plan is to ride to Clayton, GA Wed, stay overnight, and head for the Chattooga River and run the big, lower section 4 (https://www.wildwaterrafting.com/chattooga.php) from 7am-4pm and then ride the 2 hours to Hendersonville.

the only part I hate is having to go through Atlanta. You do know Christians from the deep south take longer to get to heaven as they have to travel through Atlanta !!!

I will be leaving Winchester area heading westish on Saturday before EOM. My friend and I are making a small vacation of it. No definate route plans other than ending up at Hendersonville on Thursday. We could be anywhere from Ohio to Georgia during that week. So, if you see a Black 08 (tent, sleeping bag and GIVI on back), traveling with a Kawi Z1000 (ammo can saddle bag rig, duffle on back), that would be us.

5 years with the Forum, and Finally getting to an EOM. Looking forward to it. See you all there!!!

Nitoman and I plan on leaving WPB at the crack of early on Wednesday. 700 miles straight in via I95 and hitting I26 in GA. I'm looking forward to this. :clapping:

Bob, I'd likely overnight @ Blue Ridge Motel right in MOD... It's fairly inexpensive, also. Nothing fancy fer sure! Anyway, this is all info I'm spewing without speaking with Jay first.

lol! Thank the good Lord, I don't think we need to worry about that. & Bob, you're right, it isn't much further to Hillsville. I still don't see the sense in us overshooting the BRP just to come back to it the next day if we don't have to.

Perhaps since it isn't far between MOD & Hillsville, you'd like to meet us in MOD, instead. If you didn't already know the BRP is practically outside the door of the hotel.

I'll leave that up to Bob, he made the reservation. Looks to be about 7-8 hour ride for me...I'll be leaving from work at 11:30 a.m. on the 19th

I'm just speaking out of turn, anyhow. I need to wait to speak with Jay before any plans are made. I also am not sure if I can get off work early to make this happen. I may just be having pipe dreams. I think it'd be about a 5.5 to 6 hour ride for us.

I'll be attending CFO in Wisconsin and then spend a couple of days with family in Kalamazoo. I'll leave there on Wednesday, spend a night in Athens, OH with my niece, then down to Hendersonville on Thursday. I have no route planned yet and I'll probably just pick my way as I go.

Can I go too?

So I guess I'm chopped liver? Joe is Bob's new bitch, and I won't get breakfast anymore?

Bob said he was going to call me, really.
