Hi Dan, I was looking for verbal committment for ten rooms from individuals before I put my credit card to secure those ten rooms. There are five committed to this verbally, including yourself, but I wasn't going to commit my card # until certain.
I'll call again tomorrow and explain situation to the desk about your phone call. Are 5 others interested in the DVD 2010???
Yo Big Dan, I just called out to Charla at the Longstreet Inn 1-775-372-1777 in the hopes of firming up the group rates deal.

No luck though, I still have to talk to Monica at 0900. What I'm hoping will develop is she'll log in our FJR Forum and AZ Beemers room reservations until she gets to 10 count; then she'll extend to us the $69 street side-two queen beds, $79 pond side-two queen beds or $89 for the king bed mini suite facing pond side! I'll bounce this on to AZ Beemers Club also.

Received e-mail from Ryan yesterday wondering what Death Valley Daze was, thought this might be helpful for first timers:

"Hi Ryan,

Death Valley Daze is not a really formal event. We arrive at the hotel on Friday and party that night.

Saturday we ride around Death Valley and see the many sights; usually around a 375 mile ride day.

Get together dinner on Saturday night, drinking and gambling; lots of good motorcycle conversation.

Then we ride home on Sunday. Just an informal way for Forum members to get together and laugh.

Sincerely,

Don Stanley

Subject: DV Ride

Hi, I am in N. Cal and would love to plan the ride. I am a pretty new FJR Forum member. What is the plan exactly? I have 1-2 other FJR and a maybe a couple of Beemer pals that might want to go.

Thanks!

Atencion Ryan, AZBMWRIDER, azgsgirl, bbolesaz, Back Road Bob, El Gitano, Toecutter, Orestes, FJRay, Big-D, High Desert Rider, madmike2, Enrique and all other Death Valley Daze-ites: Arrangements have been made for lodging at Longstreet Inn/Casino!

I have placed 10 rooms at https://www.longstreetcasino.com on my credit card for 60 days only. 2 of the rooms are already booked in my name BeemerDonS and under Orestes (Dave, just pay me when you get in from England!). You each need to call 1-775-372-1777 and book your own room under your own credit card. As soon as all ten rooms are booked, the discounted rate will kick in for those ten and any additional bookings for our two forum groups. When you call in you must mention the Confirmation Number of 67092 and mention either FJR Forum or AZ Beemers (Hell, mention both of the clubs!)

Recap of the discounted rate rooms per night: 1) $69 for two queen beds facing the street side. 2) $79 for two queen beds facing the pond side. 3) $89 for king bed suite facing pond site. Any questions, call Chuy at 480-917-3863 or 480-440-4666

Alrighty Then,

My room reservation is confirmed for a room facing the street with two queen beds.

Total price including tax = $73.83 per night

Glad to see Dr. Bob is scheduled to be there. You just never know when someone might fall into the Pond after too many alcoholic beverages!

The wifey wants to know if there will be any other females there to hang with so she doesn't have to listen to all of our lies the whole time. This is her deciding factor whether she goes or I go solo. So.. ? I told her that there are women to hang with, but she doesn't believe just me. Sorta like, "I got to have this for the bike for safety you know".

I probably won't be bringing any wimmins, probably....

Hi Ryan, There's a 90% chance my lady friend Rena from Houston will fly out to join me on this trip. If you saw the Ride Report last month where Big-D and rest of Arizona FJR Forum rode up to Colorado to visit pinhead and Kyndall: Rena is the Redhead!

There is a 50% chance she will fly in and out of Phoenix, the other 50% chance is she will fly in and out of Las Vegas' McCarran Airport. I have sweetened the deal for her by buying us tickets for the Bette Midler Concert on Sunday night at Caesar's Palace and have booked a suite at Paris Hilton. As a dirty old man, you have to give some to get some!!!

There will be lady riders on this event: Jo, now known as azgsgirl, formerly azducgirl, will be riding her BMW F800ST or her BMW F650GS to this event. There is also good news that GSJane may be riding her BMW F650GS Twin to Death Valley; the bad news is that she would be bringing her ******* boyfriend SkooterG with her! In December I'll post up a group roster.

Just found this thread. Damn it's hard playing catch up.

Is this an all pavement trip or are we going through Titus Canyon. Either way I'm in. Either way I'm on the FJR. I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the video said "4 wheel drive recommended" That looks better than the road to my old house!!!

I will call for room now.

DK

Reservation done.

He said I was the first one to take one of the eight available by beemerdons. Thanks Don!

Made my reservation today. Looking forward to it as I have not ridden in that area before. May take the gs650 or the Gold Wing depending upon how I feel...Bob
Greetings Back Road Bob, Glad that you have your room secured for Death Valley DAZE! I am sure hoping when you contacted the Longstreet Inn you mentioned either AZ Beemers or FJR Forum to get your Club 10+ rooms discount.

Right now 6 rooms have been taken: 3 by AZ Beemers and 3 by www.fjrforum.com Beemer and FJR Folks, if you're interested in attending Death Valley DAZE 2010, you need to get moving muy pronto and secure your rooms ASAP!

After reading the past few posts, it had appeared that I may have lost my reservation, so I just called the Longstreet Inn to verify. I was told that my reservation was not put under the rooms Don had set aside, but rather I was given a room outside of the group. I asked if I would still get the group rate and whether it made any difference and I was told that it did not matter, so I left things as they are.

However, this situation should open up one additional room under Don's original booking of 10 rooms.

Dan, what should actually be happening is this: When you call in you need to mention Don Stanley, Conf. #67092 and the words AZ Beemers and FJR Forum; then you should be booking the room for yourself under your own credit card number.

If people are booking outside of my name, the 67092 number, and words FJR Forum and AZ Beemers: Longstreet Inn will never know we've reached the ten plus number and our quoted discounts will never kick in! Please everybody: Reconfirm!

For example: Clint Alston of AZ Beemers just did it correctly; he used name, # and 2 Clubs and this counted against the ten!

So you understand, we're not limited to 10 rooms, we can get all they have; but we first must establish initial ten bookings!
