I'll be carrying one gallon of extra gas for those with stock tanks. I think this ride (White Rim Trail) should be good for anyone with the motivation to complete it. We will not leave anyone behind and laugh at ourselves if/when we fall down. Everyone should be pretty self sufficient or pair up with others so that you make a team that can repair a flat or otherwise get your bike out. If you need a buddy let me know because I'll probably need one too.

If it's anything like riding in the high-desert it can be real cold in the morning, hot mid-day and cold again in the evening. A little rain or snow is no big deal as long as it doesn't flood or stick. Hard to dress for other than layers and have a way to stow the gear you shed. We'll make sure everyone understands the forecast as we know it before leaving. If the weather is crap a trip to the dunes might be plan B.
As green as green can be here in the off roading department. What is a short list of stuff I need to bring on the trail? Please keep it motorcycle related!

I'm tentatively in for Saturday and Sunday. Too bad this is over Easter Jeep Safari, sure adds a kink on places to stay and it will be like a zoo and the trails like parking lots!

I probably won't make a reservation and just car camp somewhere. I would be in on either the White Rim Trail ride or the single track ride. Could bring both the DRZ400 and the KTM 250EXC.

Somebody post up the damn list. Don't make me start crackin heads.

Here is what I carry:

Toolbag:

2 tire irons

spare front tube(can be used in the rear in a pinch)

valve stem core remover

axle nut wrenches(motion pro makes combo axle nut wrench/tire irons, very handy)

patch kit

some way to add air(if your bike has a battery wire up a powerlet and get the $9.99 Slime compressor from Walmart and a powerlet adapter)

air pressure guage

appropriate sockets/wrenches for your bike(usually 8,10,12mm for most jap bikes)

combo screw driver

folding metric allen set

leatherman tool or the like

small adjustable wrench

spare master link

zip ties

electrical tape

small assortment of nuts and bolts(most dealerships sell a bolt kit for your bike for ~$25, I put one of every size in the pack in my tool bag)

tow strap

spark plug and wrench

Backpack:

Rain Jacket

Camel Back

Spot

Food

Cell phone/charger/powerlet adapter

extra pair of gloves

microfiber cloth

first aid kit

The most important piece is making sure you can change out a tube/fix a flat with only the tools you have on your bike. Try it at home before you have to try it on the trail. Even with rim locks you cannot make it very far on a flat. Just gets too squirely and ruins a perfectly good rim and tire.

SaharaJp99: I just sent the message below to HotRodZilla, johnny80s and Patch 308. NOTE: If I would have known about the Jeep Safari when I initially set this up with Moab RV Resort I would have moved it to either the weekend before or the weekend after, didn't know until two months later and a dozen AZ Beemers had already booked.

"My AZ Beemers Buddy BearTrax - Barry and his wife Marla booked at the Apache Land Motel in Moab, UT for $79 a night during FODS VI."

ATTENTION: SaharaJp99 has been added to the attendance roster.

Without digging through my tool pack I carry pretty much the same thing plus a tube of QuikSteel. It an evolutionary thing, crap goes in you needed last time and crap you thought you had to have never gets used.

I like to carry my tools in a smallish waist pack, not always comfortable, but comforting knowing it's there.

JP, think of the Jeepers as cones on a race track.

Yep, I forgot to add the quick steel, after seeing your repair at FODS V on Doug's bike last year I added it to my tool kit! I carry my tools on the bike. The less weight on my back the better, and these tool packs can get pretty heavy.

On the DRZ, since it has a rack, I use a Moose tool pack/tube carrier, it has two compartments, on for tools, one for tubes. I use rok straps to secure it, it isn't going anywhere! In the tool tubes, I usually only carry those in the spring during trial clearing times, which I carry an MSR bottle of 2smoke in one tube for the chain saw, and a small bottle of chain oil and a spare chainsaw chain in the other.

On the KTM, I carry a little differently. I have Wolfman bags on it. Enduro tool bag on the rear, with a tool roll/other items, and a tube carrier on the front that carries tubes/tire irons.

Yes, well aware of the Jeepers, and used to be one myself(still sort of am, still have the Jeep, but it is mighty broken, and dirt biking is much more fun)!:

In Moab/my Jeep

Used to go there every year to race in the late and great XRRA series during the Easter Jeep Safari, thankfully we had a private race course out at Area BFE and never had to deal with the crowds.

My Buddy Smokeball of AZ Beemers is looking for a motel roommate for FODS VI, if you are interested in sharing costs I will get Jim's phone # to you!

If anyone interested in sharing lodging please let me know. I am planning to camp, but, I am beginning to think I am too old for that. Besides, after my knee replacement, getting on my knees on a hard tent floor doesn't work. I don't have too many bad habits, but those that I do have most AZ Beemers members share. Jim M.

After doing a clutch on my buddies 94 Jeep all I can say is I hate those pieces of ****. I'll take a bike any time over a Jeep. Sorry jeep owners.
I got my very first jeep in 1969 when my Uncle Sam gave me one in the United States Army and I have owned Jeep ever since; I absolutely love Jeeps.

Anyone that hates Jeep is probably so ******* stupid that he could **** up a simple valve adjustment on an FJR and can't even get a quad to run right!

SaharaJp99 that's one of the very coolest and most outrageous Jeep photos I've ever seen! Bravo, excelente! I'm also a Jeeper, owned every model since 1969.
