Oh, forgot to mention...
Picked up a new digital camcorder today.  It's a hard rive jobbie, so we'll see how it handles the vibes.  I have it mounted to my steering stem nut mounted Techmount.  I'm gonna make youz guyz famous!  Now, if I can get behind you all on Foxen Canyon for an FJR train shot, we may just have an Academy Award nominee!

Aaaaaand, ACTION!
Here ya go TWN, the video better by damn good. :D

It didn't work! :(

Too much vibration.

Hey Rick & Armand,

Sorry about leaving you guys behind but I had to be home and ready to leave for dinner by 6:00 and knew what pace I would have to set to do it.

I made it at 5:51.

The traffic once I got into LA County was a *****!

Hi Rogue, no worries man. We were doing about 85 90 coming down the 101, but then we got stuck in traffic in Thousand Oaks all the way to Burbank. Splitting lanes but so many refused to move. Some even blocked us.

Got home about 6:45. Rick had to pull over for sputtering on take offs. Same problem I was having when the bike gets really hot.

Thanks for TwoWheel for putting this together. Good work my friend, and it was a great pleasure to see everyone again. I hope everyone made it safe

When is the next luncheon? I suggest Costa Rica.

Armand

Nice pics, thanks for posting them. I had great time and it was nice meeting everyone. The ride home was smooth sailing, took just under 6 hours for 385 miles. I guess LA likes to sleep in late on Sundays.

Word.

Notice: HARD DRIVE CAMCORDERS DON'T WORK MOUNTED TO MOTORCYCLES!

Took it back and swapped it for a tape based CC. Gonna test it out shortly...

Thanks, Armand. Glad to see you guys, too!

Oooh lessee, Costa Rica, eh? Costa Rica, Alaska; Alaska, Coasta Rica... Hmmm... Joseph? Care to change itineraries? :D

Hey, what happened to Effjay after lunch? I didn't see him leave and his bike was gone from the lot when we left. Anyone know?

Well some of those guys may have been pissed at me!

Some time splitting lanes everything just clicks, I made pretty good time through there, I don't look at my speedo when splitting lanes but just looked at my GPS log for Thousand Oaks to the 5. I logged as slow as 6 MPH and as fast as 69 MPH through those cars.

When I got home (I had called my wife just before hitting that traffic and told her I wuold be there by 5:30) my wife said "I figured you hit traffic, we could have done it another night" but I figure its best to keep the wife happy.

that traffic SUCKED THE BONE!!!!!!!

I finally got smart and hit DETOUR 15 MILES and the GPS took me home on side roads... MUCH BETTER!

Doug was haulin' arse!!

I realized how fast I was going when I got home......... I grabed the brake and nothing happened  , Major brake fade.I guess I overworked them during that lane splitting! They were fine this morning.

Thanks everyone for the the ride! I couldn't keep up with your group after we met at JITB and we didn't have the fuel left in the tank (after riding 2-up 85-90mph and starting from Laguna Hills) I hope you guys can understand. Since our hotel was up the road from the rest stop, we told turbodave we would part and head straight for the chumash casino and have an early lobster lunch. We toured Solvang, visited several winery and endulged at the rocky mountain candy shop with chocolate carmel apples. Hope you guys had fun at lunch, and a safe ride back home.

My ride home was rather uneventful as it was only 12 miles!

I would like to have the next Nor Cal Meets So Cal meet in Montrose, Colorado so I could ride a ways before settling down to a meal!

Probably no Paieja available in Colorado, but some BB'Qed venison with sauerkraut and baked beans would be delectible, Ummm!

Uhh, nice to meet some of you pilots up in my neck of the woods in SLO county! Sorry I did'nt get to put a name with a face on all of "youse" but "I am" filling in a few blanks!

Many Thanks to:

O'Vale - for suggesting the gathering..

TWN - for organizing the herd..

KwahnaJawdge - providing Pete's location and food...

I had a GREAT time. Nice to meet some of you; Highlander, Mr. Kirk, SilveradoSlick and better half, 03SilverBullet (you really rode all the way back?), Kwahna, GunMD (got home and had to re-read your Spank report), ToeCutter (I don't think it's a ticker, let us know later?), and especially Turbo Dave. That guy is a freakin' HOOT. Tell me again what the 3 things are that make a LD rider? I remember the first (don't wad) the third (desire..) but what the heck was the second golden rule??

Sorry I didn't get to meet the rest of ya'll. I think stoopid name badges would be kind of cool; especially for the newbies who haven't met everyone yet.

One thing I've learned.. Don't be late for the chow bell with the FJR crowd! Crimanies, all the fud was g-o-n-e or spoken for, and I was only 20 minutes late!

Thanks to TWN for setting up the event. I was lucky enough to link up with DKirk and we had a great ride home on Sunday. Stayed at Morro Bay and headed east on 46 toward Paso Robles and found a great country road 229, great single lane road, great smooth surface, twisty and through catlle country. Headed east through Wasco to Bakersfield then up 178 to Lake Isabella. Gassed and went south of the Caliente-Bodfish road to Tehacapi. Pit stop then down willow springs road to Lake Elizatbeth road then east to Wrightwood along Mt. Emma and Ft Tejon roads. Great smooth twisty low traffic roads. Up to Wrightwood then down Lone Pine road to Cajon Pass on I 15. There we seperated and each left for home. We did about a 400 mile safe run. Great to ride with DKirk.

I enjoyed much meeting and placing faces with handles on this forum. Spent sometime talking with DCarver(also a real HOOT). I look forward to future Gathering of the Clan events.

For DCarver, send axiom is don't break down so hard that you can't fix it and make the time.

When I get back on my legs next year after my surgery, MM2 and I have been talking about a six corner tour of California which is called "California Dreaming"

It will have a central starting point near Reno but in CA and head CCW or CW around the corners of CA. Approximate distance is 2600 miles. Idea is for those that don't want to do the whole route can join in for any segment. If others are interested, please advise. Looks like a late spring or early fall would be the best time.

Again, had a great nearl 750 mile weekend of riding and meeting new friends.

Happy Holidays to each of you.

TurboDave

And I didn't think we were ready to "go public" with our little ride plan?!?!?!?!? :)

The pictures of the lunch run look like everyone had a great time. Sorry I couldn't make this one...no way, Jose! Next time...maybe.

TWN.

Sorry for bailing right after lunch without saying goodbye. I opted for a solo ride home, stopped just for gas in Buellton and arrived home in Cam at 4:30. I sure enjoyed seeing familiar and new faces and an array of farkled FJRs. Our outbound leg was less than desirable with unplanned traffic delays, but how about those beautious ocean vistas and balmy breezes on our return leg (82* in S.B. at 4 PM)?

Effjay

Great time guys & gals!!

It was the perfect weekend to break my wife into some middle distance riding.

Left Gilroy at 8:15 and Saturday and rode up HWY 1 past Big Sur on one of the most beautiful days I have ever seen in California. IT WAS GORGEOUS the way up and the way back. Got home at 3:30 Sunday afternoon. Very little traffice and the best scenery in the world (literally).

Eat your hearts out back east riders.

Want to thank everyone who helped organize the event and worked to make it happen.
