I'm looking for something like fjrtn mentions as well in regards to a GPS system. If the card deal goes as planned, I'm in too.

I'd be up for a membership, if for no other reason than to support a big forum contributor. :clapping:

1) User friendly for motorcycle use but also usable in our cars

2) Has voice instructions and touch screen

3) Don't have to use batteries (can wire into 12V system)

4) Can withstand some amount of rain while used on the motorcycle

5) And, of course, inexpensive to purchase

Well, I would guess at the $499 MAP price, the Magellan Roadmate 2200T maybe the ticket for you. The membership price is less, but I think you get the point.

So think about a Zumo if you want everything, think Magellan RoadMate 2200T if you just want a unit that works for 1/2 the price.

Let me know

That sound like exactly what I am looking for, especially if I can get a nice discount on one. :)

Great deal, I'll at least get the card and see if I can swing the GPS later. At least I'm not out that much if I miss a deadline.Bill
It's obvious, you are not the Bill Gates. So, how about being yourself and show us your bad-*** face?

It will still be ugly like BG's, but it will be real ...

I have vacation coming up on Oct 16th..heading to NC/TN and undetermined points south. (On a side note I will getting Penske Rebound and Comp up front to match the rear) :)

sooo..any possibility of picking up a Zumo before then? I'll kick in a few extra dollars for an expidite fee.

PM if you want to work it out.

All will be reveled in my personal profile. ;)

James - sounds like a deal to me. I appreciate your figuring out ways to help out your peeps on the forum- a decent thing to do!

Nope, I think the Zumo is going to be available at around Nov time frame, so don't count on getting anything any sooner.

"Q: I assume that you can play MP3's while the GPS is doing it's thing?"

I would guess so, but how do I know, I don't have one to play with yet, but if it is like the Nuvi, it should and will play MP3 and route at the same time.

By the way, to be FAIR to ME!

I only allocated a few units for this forum membership benefit and I will not sell my normal retail inventory if I run out of the forum inventory.

So like I said, if you want one, put your name on the waiting list and buy the card now, if not, don't complaint because you missed out on the deal, this is a group buy after all.

It's only fair since I have a business to run also and can't give away what I have to sell for profit to friend on this forum. Make sure you own a FJR please.

I like to make the Alice Restaurant Yamaha gathering this Oct, it will be nice to put some faces on the names.

By the way, just installed a new GPS nav system on my FJR yesterday, 7" Touch screen, full coverage map and Mexico with full Garmin City Navigator attributes and functionality along with a backward facing mirror camera so I can see who is on my *** when I take a shot at them!

Plays movies and MP3 and works great with my Autocom and cellphone. I can add XM traffic and weather to it also.

Did not wait for the Zumo, this screen is much larger and wanted the rear camera. HINT: It is not a Garmin 7200 or 7500.

NOW, what GPS unit do I have on my bike? Can anyone guess?

This thread is worthless without pics!!!!
IF I show you the unit, there will be no guessing! :D But maybe even if I show you the pics, you maynot get it anyhow.

Have to take pictures when I get going here! But I thought it will be fun just to see if anyone can figure out the clues I left what GPS unit I may have on my FJR. :p

Thanks for trying

Is it an Initial GD-72?

Bill

Bill

Nice guess, we sell Initial also, but it lacks the Garmin features that I mentioned and it does not play DVD like the Initial 7" unit.

I can tell you that is not available from Garmin yet it uses the Garmin user interface.

I thought this might be fun for some of you that knows about the GPS products!

I wil l have pictures posted or video if I can figure out how to put it on this forum ;)

whoa..

7" diagonal!

If its got XM, Bluetooth, waterproof, and removeable I'm skipping the Zumo.

I suspect it also has a fishfinder attached though

yeah Fhaze, I think you got him

alas, no "outdoor" features on that model, sigh...
