I'm hoping to stop by sometime Sat with some home-made goodies for everyone but not 100% sure right now...

I am out. I am thoroughly over spending the entire day riding in the rain. 2 trips this season? Rode all day in the rain for both. I realize that it comes with the territory & I'm not complaining... but just not feeling it. Thanks once again Bob.

Ditto, I know I won't melt but it seems like all I have been doing lately is riding in the rain. Going to work on my honey do list this weekend so I am free if the sun ever comes back out.

Nice meeting u last weekend.

The performance award from the Erie County Sheriff..................................... not so excellent.

Hmm, where in Erie County were you, ahem, 'performing'?
Just north of Springville on the old 219. Ray was the subject of a massive manhunt since Ray was ahead of me when I got tagged. We both got a performance award for being on the wrong side of a non -existent yellow line. It was strictly a revenue generating exercise.

As soon as they saw the Ontario plates we got Donalded.

Fitter, there was no line on the road and they tagged you for being on the wrong side of it? Jeeeze... Was this in Virginia?
Next best for revenue generators, New York just south of Buffalo. They had 4 cop cars trying to find Ray. If they are trying to save money I can help them. Lay off half the cops.

Enough of the political content. Ray & I put that day behind us and had a nice ride today down to Bob's. We made a few stops along Skyline Drive to sniff the flowers....

They had special designated BMW parking right beside the trash cans. I thought that was very appropriate....

We stopped in Culpeper for lunch at Baby Jim Snack Bar. Baby Jim is not a baby anymore, in fact he is a pretty big boy. Unfortunately I was too hungry to take any photos plus I had to fight Ray off from stealing my fries.

We finally arrived at our destination. As per usual Ray was working while everyone else watched. I really reminded me of where I used to work. One person working and everybody else watching....

Our route today....

I was sitting a mile up the road waiting 20 minutes for Bill to be released...... meanwhile a radio call went out to hunt me down.... when Bill drove by and the cop following him, I pulled out and got the flashing lights..... then the other po-po cars showed up...... you gotta love the new revenue generation system.... I did not see any fine listed on the paper, asked how to pay. I was told no one pleads guilty in 2016, mail in your plea of not guilty and you will get options mailed to you. What if I want to be guilty..... it was repeated nobody pleads guilty........... the gist of it is, they will reduce it to a parking ticket and want your money.

Unusual to me that both of us would be written, usually only one gets it.. and isn't it a bit strange that you got all these cars ready to address minor traffic violations...... shouldn't you be out chasing real criminals? Meanwhile in the next state they do the opposite, not much interest in traffic issues, efforts seem to be focused elsewhere.

Holy ****! That brings back dark, dark memories of being a teenager in NYC in the mid 1970's. It was a money making industry. If anyone saw the movie "Serpico". That movie was a true story about a good cop trying to do the right thing and he was a pariah in the NYPD. It was brutal. It's not much different now. (Rant Over!) move along, move along. There's nothing to see here. These aren't the droids you are looking for.

That local would be me! SUPER HUGE Thanks to Bob, Ray, and Bill. I showed up early because I heard the Police had put out an All Points Bulletin for 2 Crazy Canadians who were on the run and I didn't want to get tied up with those sort of outlaw bikers that my Mom often warned me about as a child. Little did I know they had their FJR's in the wind and showed up while I was there!

Of course I managed to fail Reading Comprehension 101 and showed up 18 hours early :) Bob was nice enough to welcome me in. My plan was just to show up and meet some new people and see what these tech days were all about. I've had my bike about 5 weeks now and had no plans to do anything to it.

Shortly after the Canadian's arrived, it was decided that we should change my final drive oil. Bob was nice enough to take me to get the oil, and when we came back, my bike was out of the drive way, in the garage. They got to work, got that changed, then Bill was on the ground with a tape measure, measuring something and punching numbers into his phone. Next thing I know, I'm sitting on the bike, they are measuring more things, and calculating more stuff. Then they tell me that my suspension is setup wrong for me and my size, and proceed to making the proper adjustments and explaining in great detail what they were doing.

I bought a fuzeblock a couple weeks ago and hadn't installed it (or brought it with me), and I asked where to pull the switched power from and off comes my seats, then the side cover and they pull the harness out and point at the exact wire and tell me to pull it from there. Awesome :) I'll be hooking that up today.

Jeff and his son showed up in the middle of that. Super nice people. I watched them work on Jeff's bike for a little while, learning a lot more, and finally headed out.

Boy, the suspension changes made were dramatic. No twisty roads on the way home, but just the difference in the way the bike didn't do a front nose dive when stopping was substantial. I can't wait to try it out.

All in all, I learned a lot, met some really nice people, and got to hang out with a couple of outlaw bikers. I know they were outlaws because the cops told them to plead not guilty and they told the cops they wanted to plead guilty and he wouldn't let them. I mean what kind of Outlaws TELL the police they are guilty? Bad *** Outlaws, that's who

Thanks again to all who helped me, a day earlier than planned !

Enjoyed hanging out last night with good friends and better food!. Not only did the Canadians assist with fixing bikes, they provided advice on how to fix our country. Great neighbors, helping clean up the hood and making donations to local PDs.

Hope to get back over there today.

Great event Bob and Janet.

Ray, I couldn't remember where you said the gas goes today, so I just started removing things. Silly me. After looking under the tank, I remembered that you said it went in the top

(In)Tech Day lV was a huge success. Three valve clearances and two sets of forks. One of the bikes had no clearance on E3/2. That was kind of scary. We replaced the shim in that on and another that was marginal since the cam had to come out. The other Gen1 gave us fits getting the valve cover back in without knocking the gasket off. I think it was the fourth attempt with a new gasket that worked. (The Genll was a breeze!)

Uploading pictures now, so more to come....

Had a great time, thanks for putting up with me. Definitely gained some insight that will be useful for upcoming maintenance on my '07.

I had a great time as well.. nice to show up somewhere and be abused like your family :) thanks to everyone who helped with my Gen 1 mess.

Really wanted to make this, but an oil leak has side-lined the '05 and the electrical issues will have to wait.

Time, TIME, i need more time.

looks like you all had a great time… well if not for the tickets. (i just completed the driving school from my ticket)
