FYI- I just checked the Quality Inn in Dahlgren and they have availability at $74 a night for Tech day weekend.

Economically, no. Distance, yes. Motel 6 is 27 miles away. Quality in is 10 miles. It doesn't matter to me. I will still provide transport. Another local may be able to also.
