There sure are a lot of specs missing.
C'mon - they don't know the fuel tank capacity yet? Dry weight? Tire size?

From pics, it sure looks like they have a finished product. WTF is going on?
Stealing sales. Don't publish all of the specs until the other new models hit and sit on the dealer's floor while the buying public holds it's collective breath (and cash) waiting to see the real specs on the competition. Kinda on the same plain as, 'How do you keep an idiot in suspense? I'll tell you tomorrow.'

;)

WOW !

Naked bike!

My very first Kawasaki was transformed into a chopper ...way back before it was unkewl!

The early-80's Testarossa styling is just to dated. The bags look silly. The exhaust pipe is downright ridiculous (looks like a manufacturer overrun for the Warrior.) The faux BMW rear suspension. I shall wait for the '08 FJR. Hopefully Yamaha will go to as much trouble in soliciting feedback as they are with the new VMax.

The new Team Green GTR/Concoors/whatever the hell they are going to call it... :lazy3:

Ditto!

Does anyone know what tires are shown on the GTR?
I was wondering the same thing. But seeing as this is an FJR website, I didn't bother searching. :p

What, you missed the memo that Lutz sent the Aztec design team to lend a hand at Kawasaki while simultaneously finding a customer for all the unused plastic body cladding from the Pontiac warehouse?

That thing is no where as awesome looking as the Aztec. I mean, Pontiac really out did themselves with that one. The only car uglier than both the Gremlin and Pacer

While I agree the steroid connie is not the prettiest looking bike I've ever seen,(the FJR is a much cleaner looking overall design) I can't keep my eyes of all the killer hardware the connie is offering (hoping the next generation FJR follows suit). Right now until someone can wring its neck for a few hours, its all just eye candy. For all we know, this bike might end up being a turd, with my biggest fears being the overall quality and MSRP?

But eye candy sure is fun to look at. :dribble:

The ABS system they have sure looks a bit cluttered. The geared ABS disc is sure an ugly and cheap looking addition to the wheel assembly and the hose wrapping around the rear of the fender is just lame. Still, what Skyway said...+1

Had a conversation with my local Kawi dealer yesterday about the new 14. MSRP is unknown as of now - anything that comes out is speculation. When I asked about the release date, he said they haven't been told, but, wouldn't be surprised if it isn't until June. When I asked him about the performance numbers, he said the version they saw in Cali 1 1/2 weeks ago was simply a preproduction unit and didn't even have an iginition system in it. He's not that naive to think that there isn't a fully functioning bike out there somewhere and it is certainly possible that there are some uber secret tests going on, but, any performance numbers that are being communicated should not be considered gospel.

Just wondering if this is the same story other people are getting from dealers.

They have at least ONE running unit out there - it was featured at Intermot - I posted a link to the video of it's entry in another thread - but for the sake of saving the search, here is the link to the video.
