It was a beautiful California spring day, so Gfran and I took a little ride uphill. The winter rides have pretty much stayed near sea level, so this was a good chance to see those mountain roads we all love so much for the first time in a while. It was in the 70s in the valley, and beautiful sunshine all the way over the Sierras as we rode up 50 to Lake Tahoe, had a nice lunch at Harrah's, and then home via 88. THREE passes in one day! (Echo, Logan and Carson) Take that, Cello II!! Couple of shots to remember it by:

The Echo Summit Lodge, privately owned by the California Alpine (hiking) Club, bought in 1952 for $10,000! Tahoe beyond.

What did I say? Snow in California, or not?

What a day. I even got a suntan!

Looks like you both had a great ride.... I'll bet you are loving being back on the FJR after trying to keep up on the KLR.

Nice to have you back... Rich

Glad you were able to have a great ride on an FJR again.

Nice pics.

That area of the country is absolutely the best for moto men and women.

Congrats on the new-to-you bike and ride. Thanks for the pics.

Good to see a little snow...you guys on the southern left coast will need the run-off this summer.

Echo Summit, is that off of hwy 4 or in that area?
Echo summit is at the top of Hwy. 50 just above South Lake Tahoe (Sac-to-Tahoe route).

So who is the maiden? You or Gary?Mikey, it is so good to see you back on the road with your new motorcyle.

Now don't do any more stupid ****, okay? :D
