Well, it seems you got me this time... I've been Bruced!
yeaahh.gif

A Veterinary Hospital with an image or picture of something other than a dog, cat or horse.
In this case, my "something" was going to be the Moon and some trees. (OCFjr never said the "something" had to be an animal!)

And this place is conveniently across the street from the only Yamaha dealership in town (not where I bought mine).

Too bad, cause I had taken an interesting new tag photo on my ride today up in Maine, which is probably why I got Bruced.

No worries, I'll keep that idea for another round.

No worries. I scored the "Northeast - Greater Flugistan, Home of the Carpet Baggers" ADV Tag while I was up there...

Old tag

New tag

(Hopefully that shows even if you aren't a member)

Nice grab Phil. You too Fred, I'd have let that one go. The super secret wild card was the medical symbol that many Vets have on their signs... it has a snake wrapped around it.

Bouncing back from my prior Brucing ...

Although it doesn't make me late for dinner., we seem to find ourselves rolling through this little village quite often. It is Francistown, New Hampshire, a cross roads of two fun NH routes. NH 136 continues west to Greenfield and Hancock, and NH 47 continues north to Bennington. Both are fine rural roads with lots of good corners. (I went up 47 today)

Across the intersection is an old meetinghouse that still has the carriage garages...

Your new tag is to find a microbrewery and get the entrance sign. Not a brewpub, nor a regional brewer, nor a big craft brewer. An honest micro. Henniker Brewing is about as micro as it gets. The smaller the better.

If the beer is packaged and sold outside of their own restaurant/pub then it is a brewery, IMO.

Then its just a matter of scale as to how big they are. For instance, my son's brewery (Harpoon) is too big to be considered a micro. But they are certainly a brewery even though they serve (only their own) beer in their beer garden restaurants at each of the two breweries.

I'd guess this one is a micro since they seem to have let their own web domain lapse (https://www.zioncanyonbrewingcompany.com).

I dream of being a microbrewer; my Ossabaw Sunshine (summer ale with orange peel zest) is almost gone and my Thundercloud Porter (7% ABV with chocolate) isn't quite ready.

Here are some official industry definitions: https://www.brewersassociation.org/statistics/market-segments/ -- not that it affects this thread, just offering.

If their web domain has lapsed, I hope they're better brewers than marketers.

I used to home brew a lot. Still have my half barrel, all grain brewing system setup down in the basement. But I haven't used it much since my son went pro. Now I get all the free beer I can drink and the bonus is: Harpoon actually makes quite good beers. ;)

Many home brewers (including me) have always dreamed of going pro. It isn't nearly as much fun as what we imagine it would be. A lot of hard, back breaking work, long hours at near minimum wages, for those few shining moments of creativity. But of course you are surrounded by beer. I'd do it anyway if I were younger, physically fit, and had no family to support. Kind'a like my son. ;)

There are a couple of guys over in Vermont that have an interesting business strategy. Hill Farmstead, and to an even greater extent, Lawson's Finest Liquids. They are tiny capacity breweries with very low production volume. Pico-breweries I guess. They sell their beers through very limited distribution networks, but they have massive followings in the local communities, and they sell out every drop they make at ultra premium prices. They intentionally do not expand on production volume to keep that demand high. They'll never become ultra-rich, but their lives are probably quite enjoyable.

Fred,

Speaking of VT micro brews, have you had the Fiddlehead Brewing Co (Shelburne, VT) Mastermind Double IPA? My daughter brought me some for birrthday a few weeks ago. It is double delish! Limited release (in cans) available near Shelburne. Have to figure out how to combine a motorcycle tour in Vermont with a Vermont brewery tour. without killing ourselves.

Sorry about hijacking thread.

I've not tried that one yet, Russ. But if you are intending in running up to Shelburne to grab this tag you better get hot on it. I hear they are forecasting some flurries in northern VT this weekend.

The end of the 2014 riding season is nigh upon us.

So I'll just have to break out the Vstrom and leave the 2014 in the garage!

I'll give it a shot but I won't be insulted if you deem it unacceptable or want to wait to see if someone has something better. Either way it got me out on the bike today so all's good.

Small place off to the back, only open four days a week BUT they did get their product on tap at about a half dozen local restaurants, all within their immediate area so . . . ?

Oyster Bay Brewing Company

well Fred, you got me thinking. On the way home today I swung by the local brewery and grabbed this:

Excellent brews can be had there you might like to know.

And for the next tag I grabbed this following gem which I call: Transportation device as not originally conceived. Interpretation for suitable entries left to the submitter.

Hope I'm doing this right. This is my first entry in moto-tag.

Welcome to the game, Russ! Great tag location (love that Green Head IPA) and cool car (though another would be hard to find)

But... you've been Bruced by just a matter of 2 minutes!

So where are we going next, Mikey?

Ah, I feel bad now. I mean it just doesn't seem right to soil a virginal grab.

And his new tag seems cool too and has a lot of potential. May I have the option to defer to Russ?

Oh great! Just as I was planning to rejoin the game I gotta go look for a backwards car

Just kiddin' ;)

"Transportation device as not originally conceived" seems to be wide open -- just some sort of weird customization. That about right, Russ?

Of course, that is your prerogative. In fact, technically due to rule 11, Russ has already properly claimed it (I forgot about this rule)

11. Don't post a 'Grab' unless you have a new 'Tag' picture ready to go. This avoids other players losing riding time while you go find a new tag pic. Have one ready when you post your grab pic.

So the new tag is now FJReady's double headed car.

That is what I was thinking. I like the 'weird customization' characterization. It will hopefully produce something as interesting or weird as the double ended Omni.

Now I have to go read the rules.
