So much to do, so much to do! New radio gear, maybe a tank bag, tune up, oil change and likely some other needless items between now and then! :)

Found a nice slideshow of the Prince Rupert - Port Hardy Ferry trip over at Adventure Rider. I just hope Niehart, escapefjrtist and Panman don't screw our passage up by bringing their blasted Seattle rain North with them! It will be a classic sailing, if the sun is out!

George,

I also ordered rain, just like WCR last year, here is what 2.5 hr ride in the rain from Parksville to Sidney ferry will do to your pants.

Remember those Tar Snakes? They made great Pucker Power!

I've booked a room. :)

But I haven't been able to register as I am away from home for a month, and it appears I can't get my email address changed using the forum settings to get the pass code.

I'll pay up as soon as I can get registered.

I registered one of my friends who is not on this forum just by making up a "nickname". You could probably to the same (zzzzip1) and not have to get the pass code.

Well, that seemed to work---paypal and all. Thanks. :)

I didn't bother to try that since I am the guy who always gets behind the person in line at the grocery store who's debit cards won't work. I assumed this transaction would just have to be FUBAR'd if I tried it. ;)

I'll likely be heading for the island after NAFO for work on the 1st. I've got a sport cuddy boat I just bought with room for 10 ppl (6 realistically) that I am mooring at Salmon Point Marina north of Comox. Don't know how fast you are heading down the island but if you're taking it slow and sight seeing, I might be able to take you out to Desolation Sound across the straight and you can swim with the dolphins :p . ..(or we can stay island side and you can swim with the sea lions in Campbell River :clapping: ).

Either way, you might want to consider renting a cottage or roomette at Salmon Point on your way through. When I went shopping for marinas to park my boat, as soon as I saw this place it was a no-brainer.

https://www.salmonpoint.com/ Thank you for your kind offer, MajBach! We just may take you up on the boating offer, Seth and I own a Boston Whaler named "Daddy-N-Me" we keep out at Lake Havasu on the Colorado River. We will be in the area Friday night 6/29.

Heading back home our only "required" dates we cannot miss are: 1) The Ferry Sailing on June 28 and 2) We Stanley Boys are spending Sunday night July 1 with our Good Friend Dr. Rich at his home on Whidbey Island, Washington. Other than that, we're free as birds.

We'll see how it goes, then. It can be a little dicey getting time off during our two busy months here but I have assignments I have to do on the Island 5 weeks of the year. If I play my cards right, I can vacation and work at the same time.

I also haven't even driven my second boat yet (Maxum 2400 SC), which is in storage in Seattle (bought it after going to the motorcycle show - go figure  ). I plan on driving it up wet the weekend of April 1st to get a feel for it. Quite a jump up from my 17' bowrider.

Wowser MajBach, the Maxum 2400 SC is my "dream boat"; that's what I want to move up to, in a few years!

me (at an apppropiate moment, rubbing her feet) : so Joanne what do you think about my heading out to BC this summer for CFR/NAFO?

her: Whoa! I thought you said you were never going cross country again?

her: and remember how mean some of the big boys were to you last time?

her: especially that ,....whats his name again...?

her: and you'd be gone more than a month wouldn't you? It's not enough to go out to BC but you'd have to go to Hyder, and then Yellowknife to tick that off your damn list finally?

her: and you'd want new tires again wouldn't you? You have a shedful of half used ones, can't you reuse those?

her: and you're not getting any younger you know....

her: well I'm sorry but we'll have to talk about this later when you are sober and making more sense....

me: yes dear (heh heh heh)
