PayPal is keeping some of your money. This isn't happening on all of the transactions, only four of the transactions so far. I'm still trying to sort out what is going on.

Beemerdons got popped for 3.5%

radman got popped for 4.4% (twice)

MHO (sorry don't know your screen name) got popped for 3.5%

Make sure you are clicking on the tab labeled "Personal" and that you pick "Gift".

edit: I've learned more about PayPal fees.

The best way to avoid PayPal fees is to fund a PayPal account from a bank account and then make a Personal Transfer > Gift.

MHO is Mike Oliver...Patriot

I made the mistake and stupidity of not changing my send account from Pay Pal Mastercard to direct out of my checking account...they charge 3% extra credit card charge...whenevery I do a purchase from a individual buddy or a donation to a cause, I need to remember (this is the first amnesia attack) to change the send to account from expensive fees credit card to direct from bank account. Sorry. I went back immediately to try to cancel and change that, but it went through already and could not.

That's OK, I can make another smaller $10 send to make up for it, no problem.

But that's what's happening gents. Check with cdogman, he found it fee less for the Tyler fundraiser to get a bank draft to send her then to transfer money to her checking account or pay pal account. They charge for the transfer also...I don't know, I think it was 1.5% for that as I remember when I was administrator for a fund raiser for a fellow down rider locally through the CMA.

Hope this helps,

Mike in Nawlins'

I don't even know him, but WTF, I will contribute, Friday (payday). Can you message me the correct paypal account. Thanx, e

Alrighty then, I'm in. Don't know RH, but he sounds like my type of guy. I like causing good karma here in the playground. I also reserve the right to ride the manatee if I'm ever in RH's neighborhood.

I like the look of the $1000/$556/$899 engines, but notice that the $899 is located in FL. Least amount of pics and a fair amount of corrosion though. An '04 that "is believed to have under 15,000 known miles on it." Hmm. Might be worth a drive by to check out how scary they are and the engine is in person.

The $1k motor actually shows the odo. That's a better sign. Still, a known motor would be nice.

Options are good! Nice work RTSR1/FJR.

I personally would not purchase an engine from a stranger under any conditions.
Yeahbut, you don't need one. ;)

Besides, getting your friends to crash just to help you source an engine is bad karma!

I bought a used motor from a forum member that totaled his bike. 20k on that motor now with no problems. There are good motors out there.

I beg to differ...probably 75% I do need one, and if I do, I will purchase another used bike (would kinda like ABS since mine doesn't have it)...'04-'06 in fact and part out my current broke '04...I was even ready to fly and ride to Peoria, IL from Nawlins' for that 6k mileage '04 for sale

so unfortunately my '04 head is RadioHowied, I believe (pulling cam chain cover and valve cover off Saturday cause it don't runny since cam chain failure)

I said from a stranger...i.e. ebay, etc

from a forum member is different which I would be open to

my '04 has 100k miles and 30k per year is my average for last 12 months...so probably a lowish mileage bike is in my future as I can't afford a new one...no more cash than $7k including all expenses

Maybe I'll be Lucky and invite prayers, mojo, karma, and voodoo or whatever you can send my way... :yahoo:

if not, here's my research so far:

https://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/1312713391.html ABS '04 but 35K miles $5900

https://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/1320317621.html 20k miles but no ABS '04 $5500

https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=120941 6500 miles non ABS '04 is Peoria, IL $6700

SOLD IT SEEMS

https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...20&start=20

https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=180397794096

this is in Houma '06 Gen II farkled out well 18k miles $7200

any advice is welcome :yahoo:

Sorry Mike, I either missed, or forgot about your end of July CCT failure.

PM coming your way.

What month comes after August? It seems obvious right? I mean, dcarver requested that we keep this going until the end of this month, and if I added a day or two to end this on a Friday night, what month would we be in?

:fool:

I told you all that I wasn't qualified...

Donations accepted until midnight September 4th.

Sorry Howie! Letting you wait a couple of weeks is one thing. I would never make you wait a month in a half!
