ok, now thats what I was talking about!! thanks! Gonna arrive on Thursday evening so will have good days on Friday and Saturday.FJRMGM, look here: https://www.attacktheroad.com/Concrete5_EOM/index.php/rally-info/route-files/ Once in scroll down a little for the Google maps of the routes.
Jealous, hah! This area is a spaghetti plate of roads and that's why I make GPS routes. There's no other way I'd locate stuff without getting lost. I know my home day trip stomping grounds around Boone better but I'll never discover it all.lol! One word: "Retired" - some people have it rough, don't they?

We'll keep an eye on that, and hope the temp lane gets open before EOM.FWIW, the BRP site https://maps.nps.gov/blri/road-closures/ is still showing a closure at Craggy Gardens.
I think the Snake is a better ride than the Dragon. But Rte 16 between Marion and Tazwell is better than both combined - it's now called back of the dragon or hump of the dragon or some such. The Snake? That looks like a nice not to out of the way detour going from CFO to EOM.
Yup, I'll post my plans here as they develop; and yes I've ridden that area some. Rt. 16 between Tazewell TN and Marion VA is also a crazy fun rideNikk, keep me up on your plans. That's not terribly far from where I plan to plant myself for the eve... it'd be fun to have some folks to ride south with (taking the fun way) on Thursday. Have you ever been down through Shady Valley (The Snake)? That's where I'm thinking about heading.
