Sorry FredW, I am a little confused by your reply. Are you saying that if you order a Russell Day Long you get to keep your old seat? I was under the impression that you had to send in your old seat and the pan was that base of the new Russell??

No, sorry, that was a bit confusing. What I meant was, if someone bought a Russell seat outright, like off eBay or something, then their stock seat becomes expendable. Of course there are also a lot of folks that bought Corbins or Sargents, which do not get built on an OE seat pan.

Maybe I should address these questions direct to Russell but I'll try here first.

Can I (from the UK) join this group buy as the discount would go some way towards the shipping and import costs?

and can the Russell seat be built upon the Sargent seat pan ( in retrospect not a good buy but it was readily available in the UK) or does it have to be the stock pan?

I have been considering a Russell seat for a while now but have been concerned by shipping charges and I would prefer to keep my stock seat should I decide to sell my 05 and upgrade in a few years as I approach a 100K (about another 3y ears)

I think this is wise also. Less mess. Just one place to look and see if your on and who else is on.

I do appreciate this though, I have been waiting all season for another group buy like this. In fact I bought a seat pan from another member with intentions of this group buy. Looking forward to next season already with a new seat.

Yup. I asked for a sticky in post number 23.

This is a great deal. Sure, next year another one perhaps but prices will probably be higher. Oh that half moon is so cool. Goodbye Corbin setup! Not bad seats mind you but that's another thread huh?

FYI, I just ordered up a backrest for the Givi 52 top box. University Motors of course. Great service. Best price. GF is happy therefore I am happy.

I am very interested in a day long for rider and passenger with a passenger backrest. My ONLY reservation is that since I'm using my bike for my daily commute, I cannot live without my seats while I'm waiting for my new seat. (I cannot my seat pans in advance and wait for them to return). If that is not a show stopper, count me in 100%
