ST Dave and I are still going down on Friday. We'll ride as many of the roads as we can durin sunlight, and crash in Athens for the night and play it by ear in the mornin. I cancelled my room for Saturday night, so we'll ride as much as weather permits and then make a turn North back up to Cleveland Saturday night. I kept my reservation open for next weekend so if the weather looks good, I'll fly back down and join you'se guy's. That's my last chance to make the " RAMBLE" next weekend I'll be in Deal's Gap.
Dave
Dave - I am interested in going down Friday - left you a pm several days ago with my cell phone number. Ray

Well, he better come...that's the whole reason I postponed this thing...just fer him. :clapping:

Unfortunately I'm not sure If I will have a bike to ride? :(

Monday I was pulling out to pass a semi on I-80 at just the perfect moment too discover that the Ohio DOT had built this takeoff ramp in the middle of the highway just for me;

After busting the windscreen, my gps, & sirius radio off with my chest & helmet, I was able to land on the seat & still upright! :yahoo:

I'm sure the car behind me had an impressive sight of me doing a "Flying W" at 75+mph.

The bike is at my local dealer & the estimate includes both wheels, dented gas tank, fork seals & bushings, among others.

I filed an online form with ODOT for damage, but have not been contacted by anyone yet.

They did dig up & repave the area by the following afternoon, I'm glad I went back & took the pictures for proof.

So I'm not very confident of being in SE Ohio next weekend, but I am one lucky fu#ker!

I might be able to make it for the weekend of the 26th...I'll have to see how the wife is doing by next week. As of today she is still in the hospital

Tstaff, We all know the sayin that a picture is worth a thousand words, but man you must be one good rider to take a hit like that and still stay upright. Sorry about the damage but you know the old addage about any crash that you can walk away from is a good crash. Were all glad that your alright.

D#mn odot! <_<

Well, I hope you are physically okay...and that you are recovering okay. Hey, you could always borrow a Michigander bike (bustanut joker's perhaps)...it doesn't seem like they use theirs much. :assassin:

The old saying "sometimes it's better to be lucky than good" might be closer to accurate.

I'm still heading down to Athens this Saturday. If it rains,it rains, but I'm betting it won't.Last Saturday we had about the same odds and I stayed dry.Besides a chance of rain does two positive things-1 it keeps the Harly parades in the garage,2 it might keep the sun out of my eyes as I go west on 78 late in the day.Don't get me wrong,I don't have anything against riders who ride H.D.s,but the 20 to 100 bike Harly parades tend to clog up a state route.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it next weekend since we're supposed to start working 6-10s this week.

See ya Saturday.

Denny

Denny,

Myself, and a couple others will be in the Super 8 parking lot on Saturday morning. Like previously stated, 8:30 full tanks and ready to roll. I'm betting that it's not going to rain either.

Hope it's good weather for ya Denny! Sorry I won't get to meet you and ride with you. Thanks for your route scouting and for the road suggestions last year that helped me come up with the route. :clapping:

It was my pleasure. Thanks for introducing me to a couple of new roads-144,564.564 should be really beautifull when the leaves come on.

The weather channel has Saturday chance of rain down to 30% now. My bet is that its not goin to rain and I'll be able to ride the "RAMBLE" both weekends.

Dave

My guess is that your not going to straighten out a Hoop that took a smack like that. And besides who would want to trust there lives to a re-straightened set of wheels at 125 mph. Not me thats for sure !!!!!!!! Hope you get the bike back soon.

Dave

Latest NOAA weather report has the chance of rain up to 50% and thunderstorms. As much as I hate having to reschedule, it looks like our prescient organizer made the right call. See you next week.
