I sure hope the Athens weather gets better before Saturday. The forecast could sure be better.
Yeah...I hear you there. <_< This has to be one of the wettest (read suckiest) springs on record.

In any case...I'm riding down and will be there Friday night and riding Saturday while dodging raindrops-by myself if need be. This is an annual spring rite for me and it has usually provided good memories. :)
Hey man. I'll be dodgin with ya.

Could all of you others that ARE gonna be at the Ramble chime in so I can get a rough idea who I can expect to be there?
I'm going to try and make it out as long as the weather isn't total CRAP. I'm probalby coming out Sat and not staying over night, though that might change.

So count me as a definate maybe. :)
what renegade said.

Guy's be prepared for a great ride. And what ever happens don't miss Route 536 from the river North. Its without a doubt the best road [in my estimation] of the entire ride. And one more thing those of us who live fairly close ought to make this ride a 2 or 3 time a summer get together. Hope you guy's get great weather.

Wheatie,

It wasn't as hard to post these pic's as I thought. I have a couple more really good pic's but until I get an A OK from the other riders I thought I'd better wait to see what they say. Posten there faces on the Forum without there permission might" tick em off", and since I hope to ride with these guy's again, I'll wait. I will tell you guy's this though, those are some of the best roads I've ever been on. Sort of wished I could have met everyone who was goin to ride last weekend, just to put a face to your screen names, but maybe we could all do this ride in June or July. Anyway, have a great time this weekend.

(Oh, and thanks drc32-0 / aka Denny for leading the ride...and good on you Dave for adjusting your ride...safer and more fun for everybody)
Had a change of plans and will not be able to join. Next year...

Keep the rubber side down,

Glad you guys had a good time... :clapping:

...could you tell me one thing...do you know which FJR rider helped patch up that guy's tire? I want to thank him next time I see him.

Oh...and if someone else wants to arrange a group during the summer...have at it. Those are some great roads. :yahoo:

I heard about some guys with FJr's helping a STNer with a flat tire.

Thought it might be someone doing the Ohio Ramble.

Weather in Pa wasn't too bad.... The rain made us head home a little earlier than we wanted to but still .... all in all and good weekend!

O.k. I'll own up-I stopped and helped the guy with his flat.It really wasn't a big deal.I just stopped to talk and as I was walking up to them they told me they had a flat.I got the tire plugger kit I always carry and we put a plug in and the guy who owns the garage you see in the picture brought his compressor out and filled 'er up.I didn't even have to use my co2 cartridges.

But in the end we were well rewarded. One of the guys told us about a good resturant in Woodsfield.Very good .You guys might want to give it a try when you do the ramble. It's named "Traditions" and it's real easy to find.As you approach Woodsfield on 78 traveling west take a left on 800/26 and it's right there. It's always fun to get a little local flavor.

Have a good ride Saturday.I doubt if I'll be able to make it,but if I don't have to work I'll be there.

Good on you Denny! :clapping: I was wondering if it was you...you gave our members a good reputation with your efforts. Whenever we meet, I'll buy you your favorite beverage.

Also, thanks for the Woodsfield restaurant recommendation...we may incorporate that into plans - this time or next- how much room is there for diners?

Sorry I will miss you guys. But I have the maps and might still make it there some time this summer. Sally and I like to take off on a Friday and go somewhere, ride that somewhere all day Saturday, then return home Sunday.

Mark, we have to get together some time and wear out a back tire together...

Well, definitely make this SE OH route sometime if not this Saturday. And yes, we need to ride together again...it's been since Mike's WV Ramble of June '06...course this summer I'm doin' NAFO and Glacier, and next year I'm doin' the ride of my life out west for a month. :yahoo: ...

...but if yer into doin' shorter rides...come this May, I'll be hittin' Hooterville, MO for some riding that FJRocket is gonna lead...there's a thread on it. And who knows, maybe this fall we'll do a repeat of this little SE OH ride with a few variations or sumpin'.

Here is FJR RAY Man can he ride his AE. I was sure that his electric shiftin Fjr would have held us all up, Man was I wrong. He could easily lead one of the fast groups in the future. He's also the guy that set up my suspension for a cup of coffee, and now that I think about it he did it for free because he bought his own coffee that mornin. Thanx again Ray the bikes riding super!!!!!!!!!

dadsmotorcycletrip023.jpg

Here is FJR DENNY All right heres the guy that saved the day. Not for us but for the guy on the Honda with a flat. He also was kind enough to personally take us around to ride some of his favorite roads in the area. A "BIG" hoorah to yeh!!!!!I sure hope in the future that if I get a flat that somebody stops for me. Thanx again.

dadsmotorcycletrip026.jpg

ST Dave I never thought I would see a ST carvin up th back roads but Dave sure made a believer out of all of us. Heres hopein you guy's have as good of a time as we all did. For those of us that live close Denny said he'd put together some other great roads if anyone wants to come down here in May or June. All we have to do is give him a couple of weeks notice just incase he has to work that weekend.

Wheatie, I am going to bail on this weekend...I definitely want to run the routes, but the "thunderstorms likely" forecast and home improvement list have me wussing out.

Thanks for setting all this up,

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the weather - Storms forecast for Saturday - and Sunny weather forecast for Sunday...

...I am switching the Ramble Ride to Sunday. Call your friends and let them know of the switch.

Not much choice other than this...this front is a massive one that stretches from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico...so there was no dodging these raindrops. Mother nature has not been kind to this Ramble planning. Guess I made the wrong weather call last weekend. :(

If no one else is there...atleast griff and I will be riding. I've got to get more than the measly miles I have on my bike this spring. See you there. :clapping:

Mark, I'm sorry but due to a previous commitment, I will have to miss the Sunday Ride. Have a safe and good time!
