I am in for this. I need to learn how to work on my bike and stop paying out the nose for the shops to do it. I just had an oil change done but am sure I could use a TBS and possibly Spark Plugs because I don't think any of the shops have done that in quite a few miles. Neil, please send me a pm with the address to your place. Also, what are the best plugs to use on the FJR? I usually just take whatever the dealer installs.
LLFJRP - Stock NGK or NGK Iridium (very pricey, but long lasting) are good. I’ve used both. No real power difference w/Iridiums, but they did last over 25K, then I sold the bike.
Also you need a very unique spark plug socket, one that works. It's very narrow in the tubes where the SPs reside, you need a very narrow or thin walled socket. Others that have changed their plugs know what I'm talking about. Sometimes the socket likes to stay down with the plug and not come out. It just plays with you, it's all rather fun. ;)

I kinda struck out on the valve check...How about a fork seal replacement on a Gen I?

December is dicey for traveling this distance. Getting there is definitely weather dependent.

Tom - A fork seal replacement isn't much better than a valve check.
Look at dcarvers fork seal and bushing replacement on his Gen2, maybe a little different on Gen1 but... Looks like you need some special tools etc. Not real simple to quickly do in an afternoon a few hundred miles from home. Just sayin'. ;)

How about this then...

I'll supply brats for the grill for everyone, unless they want to bring their own. Either-Or, just let me know how many folks I need to provide for.

Hi Neil and Janet, Donna and I are uncertain at this point in time if we will be able to attend; if we do, we will bring our own meat with us for grilling.

My Sister Mary had colon cancer surgery yesterday, last Wednesday she went in for a colonoscopy and biopsy was malignant. Day at a time for us!

Brats for me! Thanks Neil and Janet.

I am thinking about it. It would be nice to see everyone. I prefer Surf and Turf and would like a table by the ocean, please. :yahoo:
