Looks like I get to have some of my colon removed
sadsmiley.gif
. Anybody here been there done that??? Just wondering what I have to look foward to other than good drugs.

The doc says biopsy doesn't show cancer but there are things that don't belong and could turn into cancer so they want to remove pieces and parts.

It its just precancerous polyps they are removing, don't sweat the recovery. If they are actually removing part of your colon, of course it's major abdominal surgery and you'll have recovery from that. My brother had this done, but the reason he had it done was different - he had a lot of scar tissue from radiation treatment that was preventing that part of his colon from working. (no semi-colon jokes).

Best of luck with that.

they're going the abdominal route because the growth is to large to remove through the existing route. Doc says 4-6 weeks recovery.

There are some that hope I won't be as much of an ******* when recovered.

Hey Ray...good luck for success on the surgery.

You are one of the good guys and I want to get out there and tip over yer bike again if I can.

Hi Ray. I don't have any experience with that... but I want to wish you good luck with your surgery and recovery!

I've had a number of polyps cauterized but never any surgery. Best wishes for a successful surgery and an uneventful recovery.

Been there done that !!!

Was cut open 3 times in 8 days, nearly 6 weeks in hospital, I have the other Big "C", Crohn's Disease.

Have had various parts of the small and large intestine removed.

Have a temporary ileostomy at the moment, at least I don't have to worry about finding a dunny.in a hurry.

Took awhile to get back on the bike, had some good mates that escorted me around for the first few rides.

It's actually more comfortable to ride the bike than drive a car, but the buggers wont give me a disabled parking permit for the bike.

AND as of a few days ago, can now get the FJR onto it's centre stand.

Just don't over do it, listen to your body, my mind still makes promises the body can't keep.

And remember Codeine is your friend !

Wishing you the best.

Cheers

really, sounds like just another pnw tech day to fix it.clear all that kz **** off the table and get out the dremel.jk.good luck.

Good luck with that Ray, this doesn't sound like fun! I'm sure Patty and the kids will look after you.

I'm not sure Kevin. The last hernia I got fixed was doing fine until Patti stuffed her knee in my gut. Hurt like hell and she slept through it.

^ This right here tells me you'll be fine. Attitude is everything in recovering (well... that and a few good meds).

Good luck and positive thoughts sent your way, but if you change your mind about going the MD route, dj bill has a plan to fix ya!

Ray,

doesn't sound like a walk in the park, but you are one tough bugger. Only the best of wishes for you .... make sure the Doc's done a few - sure he has though.

Rog n Deb

Dayum Ray... That sucks, but not as bad as it could. Like others, I think you'll be fine. Just give it time and don't do more than your body will let you.

Get one of those silver bells and ring it every time you need something.
