WTF are we doin' wrong, Bust? In that vid, you got 2 of those 3 kid actors dead already, and here we are still walking the planet. They had money, success, the best drugs. And we had what? Dangerous moto bikes? Some with holes cut in the inner workings of the sound suppression cannisters some moto bikers use?

Very existential of you to post that at this moment of contemplation as the cluster feck in Cali gains momentum on its way to critical mass and the end of the world on Saturday. (I think our leader butchered his exhaust system this way just this afternoon on his way to Paso.) :dribble:

Not sure what we're doin' wrong  I was told years ago mudercycles were too dangerous and should be illegal

As far as the timing of that post? Something inside me just stirred. Maybe they were communicating with me as I've lost me foil helmet

Personally I still really like the sound. I'm not as keen on the popping on decel, but I don't care - that's behind me and I can't hardly hear it.

And I've got my order in for Garauld's cones, so once I get 'em and install 'em I'll post up a pic-a-roonie of 'em.

Maybe I should wash it again? It's been two years ya know..
Yeah, and 20 whole miles. You're such a hard-core badass motorcycle rider, Bust.

Ah but it's a torrid pace I'm running this year!! 1100 miles since tech day.. Yep six tanks of fuel :yahoo:

My back is being very cooperative so far ;)

Plus, you know I've never seen a mud puddle I didn't like! :p

A few weeks ago when Trooper first posted this thread I was quite intrigued, but wanted to wait until there was more feedback. But then I couldn't find the the thread again. Was late that night surfering the web for bike stuff to get ready for my trip out west. So I joined this forum and lo n behold I stumbled on this thread again last night (made for good late night reading). Thnx Trooper, I trooperized my cans this morning before work. The audio on those YouTubes posted earlier certainly don't do justice to how it sounds. My big concern will be the MPG. At least these first couple weeks it'll take a major hit as I attempt to control my twitchy throttle wrist. Looking forward to see how it'll stand up to the long ride to CA in 3 wks. Past experience, I could get 50 MPG if I rode a full tank without a break. Thnx again Trooper and to all you folks who took the gamble and tried it.

Possible issue with this mod?
I love quoting myself almost as much as I do touching myself.

Update on this. Today I actually washed my FJR (can you say 'sticky' bugs?) and just soapy water, a sponge, and some moderate scrubbing removed the discoloration. Go figure.

So no color crisis!

I gotta wonder what you're going to do when the hair on your magina turns gray..
*******! Zero on reading comprehension. I couldn't give a hoot. This FJR is waaay past being the prom queen. But I know delicate peeps like mi ******* step-pappy are particular about their Burros and bikes and would get their panties all in a bunch from discoloration like that.

Heck, just the other day mi ******* step-pappy paid some carwash like $75 for a 'detail' of his FJR. Wonder if he rode it over with his dress on?

It was a shift, not a dress! The $75 'detail' was well worth it, My Miss Lucy Liu is all shined up and polished slick like Geisha Girl!

FWIW, I could probably take a pair of the removed tubes and turn them into inserts that can be put back into the muffler, thus effectively reversing the Trooper mod. I would weld a flange to the tubes and they could be covered up and secured by a set of my tailcones.... ;)

I truly admire your ingenuity. I'd certainly consider that. But there are two cuts in the process. Which cut would you reverse, the one made by the hole saw (which seals the baffle) or the one made by the dremel, which shortens the final outlet?

I still have the cut off pieces.

My mod would basically allow you to reinsert the old tubes back in to the muffler can. It may be a tad louder than stock as the inside welds are permanently gone and some exh gas will be bypassing any internal baffle plates.

I'll certainly consider this before I go all Two Brothers etc.

so if I holesaw it only, you get to me something that I can go back and forth at will ???

this would push me over the edge as I can see a little more noise on local rides, but want rock quiet on tours

course ya'll are saying the rumble is not discernable at highway speeds anyway

decision decisions...I really like the sewing maching...turbine spinning up sound I'd have to say

I wish someone locally had done it

who's closest to Nawlins' that did the mod...great excuse for a ride, I'd say...

seriously... :)

Yup - I believe so - it would look somthing like this:

Keep in mind, you will need something to keep the tube in place...

No slight towards Garauld but.

I can't believe I'm reading this. You gotta be kidding me! This thread is indicative of what *****'s can do if left unattended.

**** up a good thing that the masses accept. Why..?? I bet the gurls (1) that that did this and feel as though they have been violated are ****** liberals..Grow a set and admit you are fuking ghey..
