OM won't tell you he is going until 5 minutes before lift off.
and then he won't show up.....

R
I think he's done the math that VI is in the middle of a RAINforest

*leaves a saucer of warm milk for OM*

Just curious... do we have an unofficial roll call yet of who's planning on attending this lil' ol' shindig?

Griff

We're expecting about 40 to 50 players and we're probably about half way there counting the serious expressions of interest so far. Still 7 months to go so who knows where we'll end up. We've block-booked rooms around our reserved parking lot but if we fill all those up, the resort has more rooms available at that time of year. Accomodations shouldn't be a constraint if we get more players than we bargained for.

El Cajone

Rally Co-ordinator
My un-official list has 28 bikes with 5 maybes.
OK, we'll go with that!

Thanks Mike and Cajone... I was just curious. Expect my back-seater to fly into Nanaimo and meet FJRGuy and myself when we roll in from Mex. This is gonna be a blast...

And MEM... we're bringing the good stuff, worm and all :dribble:

Griff

Poor excuse....
He's Irish. You were expecting something other than a poor excuse, because..... :dntknw:
OM - you going to help me out here ?!
Mary Ellen, should he continue to denigrate the Irish, it's MM who'll be needing the help.

:D
And you're not going to Barb's gig because .... ?
Mary Ellen, I'm sure you've heard the saying: "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie." Or perhaps, "Never attempt to teach a pig how to sing, it is a total waste of your time and it annoys the living hell out of the pig!" Putting three Irishmen at one event, may indeed be asking for "The Perfect Storm!" Even though, Old Michael, ShinyPartsUp and El Burrito Ballerina were all together at WFO-08 in Moscow, Idaho with no dire effects. But Shiny had to ride off early and OM was very ill! We were well behaved!

Now we Fenian Micks have discovered madmike2 has Irish blood (OM, SPU & Chuy have suspected this for a long time!), barb may have a debacle on her hands!!
Well.... guess what? I'm kind of Irish, too. Burke is maiden name ;)

I'm planning to join Barb's gig, btw. So, where does THIS turn of events leave us? :p
hopeful!

https://www.tasteoftx.com/bevs/mezcal/vs.html Griff, Are you bringing/buying tequila? Or are you buying/bringing mezcal? A world of difference between these two!

If you're buying mezcal, forget what I said about the border town liquor stores, and you may not be even able to find mezcal in Puerto Penasco, Sonora. You may have to ride to Caborca for mezcal. Tequila does not have a worm, or at least I've never seen that; mezcal usually has a worm in the bottle; but not always, ese!

You muy loco Canadiense truly want mezcal! I'll bring some back from Guaymas in April, carry it to WCR. But I must warn you, mezcal's very drug like, es muy peligro!

Don, you know your booze! Tequila is for wannabe's. The worms are like leather shoelaces soaked in mezcal. Rather chewy. But by the time you finish 750ml you don't give a ****... you'd chew on an agave plant if told to. Good stuff! At least when I was younger.

Si amigo... la (el? I can never get the friggin' conjugations right!) mezcal es lo que queremos! Para todo mal, mezcal y para todo bien también... B)

We'll do what we can to find the good stuff. No sense bringing something back you could buy locally.

Griff, tu Espanol es excelente! Have you been to Oaxaca? You do know the famous Oaxacan saying, regarding Mezcal: "For all Evil, there is Mezcal; For all Good, there is Mezcal!" I actually run a little scared of Mezcal, I truly do believe it is more of a drug, than a liquor. Two or three shots of Mezcal, I act like RenoJohn, or worse!

Hmmm.... I see that now. I think the list has been edited. MEM is now beneath madmike. Which, I'm sure, is meaningless in and of itself :D

Soooooo.....

You're saying you want to be removed from the list?

OR...that you don't want to be under mm2?

I mean...er...uhm....as interesting as the latter sounds, my dear... :blushsmiley:

.....said lists are alphabetical.

I was merely collating data not otherwise ascribing or assigning meaning.

But if you are making predictions based on past performances with certain elixirs and their affects on you......

Be still my heart.....

Duh. Missed that salient point ;)

Appears you're safe from me since you don't partake of the imbibing of certain elixirs and will be the one taking photos. Make sure you get the names right!

Worse than RenoJohn? Is that even possible? The man's LEGENDARY ...

Actually I've spent a grand total of 2 days in Mexico in my whole life... and that was in Mexicali for the start of last year's 3 Flags.

But... I do speak French, which is awfully damned similar, and grew up in an Italian neighbourhood, which is even more similar.

Trust me, if I actually had to speak it rather than one-finger type it it wouldn't be nearly as coherent... a menos que tal vez yo estaba bebiendo mezcal ;)

I really do need to learn more Spanish... but my French Canadian wife says I'm not allowed to learn it the same way I learned French, which sorta takes all the fun out of it ;)

Griff

I booked a 2 bedroom and I found out my friend won't be able to make this rally, so I have a spare room open to share. PM me if your intrested in splitting a room.

Thanks
