Hey Gary...Get yourself a rear facing camera. Then that other dork won't be all alone. You know you want to...
So, when Race Tech rebuilds a stock FJR shock, I know that they re-spring it, and drill it and install a valve for recharging the nitrogen. I assume they also revalve the damping for the stiffer spring too? Does it then have a single weight spring (IOW lose the Hard/Soft remote)? And what about adjustments? I assume that you would retain the rebound (some say it is both rebound and compression) adjuster on the bottom? Any other adjustability added? And finally, how much did all of that cost (just for the shock, not the forks)?Took it out to try the new race tech gold valves with springs up front and rebuilt OEM shock. After a few tweaks to the initial settup all is great.

Ouch! Could get ugly if you fly over the bars in a get off eh?The word "eviscerate" comes to mind when I look at those bar ends....

Dang! Been thinking about Two Brothers and thought you had included sound clips.Day before Yesterday installed G-2 ...Yesterday installed 2 Brothers Titanium exhaust...Today I listened to the heavenly music while my neighbor rode my bike up and down the road...May install footpeg lowering blocks later today....Can't ride until foot heals up some more....Torture worse than waterboarding.....<img title="" class="bbc_emoticon" src="https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/sad.png" data-cke-saved-src="https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/sad.png" />
Gary - Call me wacky, but.... I would not want to ride with those things on the bars. In an accident that will disembowel you rather quickly. Just sayin'.
Was talking with one of my biker buds after work today. He was asking about the bar ends. I was explaining that at this point, they're just an experiment. But I sure do like 'em so far. So there ya go. If nothing more, ya gotta admit, it is DIFFERENT.

I don't expect that anybody would have an interest in something like this. This is something that i - alone - wanted to try. I appreciate your concerns and I hear what cher sayin'. I'm just checking them out to see what I think right now. As I said, they rotate easily out of the way with just the flick of the wrist. I've used them on my mountain bike for years and I've had a bunch of crashes on that thing. I set em loose on the mountain bike for the same reason... they simply rotate out of the way during a crash. They've been crash tested many times and I know what they'll do. However, I drive my mountain bike like a maniac. Not so with the FJR. For what it's worth, I don't drive like most guys. I obey the speed limits and honestly, I drive like gramma most of the time. I've never been involved in an accident in my life, in my car or on the bike... and I don't plan on it. I say my prayers before I get onboard and I believe that my safety is not an accident... if that makes sense. So, Bluesman, all that said, I'm the one that should be saying, "Call me wacky." And I'll be just fine.Gary - Call me wacky, but.... I would not want to ride with those things on the bars. In an accident that will disembowel you rather quickly. Just sayin'.
He explained why they won't maim you, becasue they move real easy, if they didn't though they could act like a hook and yeah, maim you pretty bad. and all that other stuff you mentioned isn't shaped like a hook of sorts. Why does everyone keep saying, "Oh...Those are gonna disembowel/kill/maim you?"
How the Hell do ANY of you know that? Have you ever seen it happen? What about all the miscellaneous bullshit we put on these bikes, like Radar detectors, GPS mounts, SPOT Trackers, cameras, etc...None of those will kill you, but some stupid aluminum, capped bar ends will poke your eye out.
Nevermind if you're in a crash that violent, the sudden interaction with the pavement my finish you off, but those nasty bar ends will make you suffer first.
We oughta have a rule that if you don't know what you're talking about, you can't say it. Of course, that would end 90% of the chatter on the internet.
Nobody knows, but that doesn't mean you can't anticipate a potential problem if you have half a brain in your head. Why does everyone keep saying, "Oh...Those are gonna disembowel/kill/maim you?"

Uhh, that would be rule #11. And it would effectively prevent me from ever being able to post anything at all...
