Today I finished the the installation of Traxxion AK-20's and a Penske 8983.

Lots of settings to dial in....

Just like you have heard so many times before...WOW. It's a different bike, like riding on a rail...

Thank you Santa ;)

Installed an OEM Touring Windshield. Made plans to go for a ride with another local FJR owner Thursday, if the ice melts off the roads in my subdivision by then!

Rode for 4 hours with another FJR owner. Washed bike after ride because roads had many sections of dirty water and mud due to snow melting on this 50+ degree day.

Mounted a set of PR3s. Pulled the driveshaft and lubed the splines. First time pulling the wheels so it was a learning experience. I took off the OEM Bridgestones which were junk from day one.

Picked up the bike from her 600 mile break-in service.
Brrrr.

We are up in the PNW visiting the kids. First part of the week in Snohomosh. At noon yesterday there was still frost in shady places.

In Maple Valley now - 2" of snow.

So all I did to my FJR today was think about her and look forward to a ride as soon as I get home!

Changed out my Two Bros exhausts (now for sale) for Delkevic Carbon Fiber units. Better secured the carbon wrap on the trim under the tank, removed the peeling carbon wrap from the right side panel since it was peeling (didn't set fully in the cold).

Removed the Streetpilot 2820 and put in the Zumo 550, then

I rode it hard, and put it away wet!

With the warmup into the 60s and rain ending early in the day, I made use of the break and washed-off roads and got to twist the throttle a bit.

With the crazy weather changes here in the heartland I was able to ride to work three times this week and even got to ride to church on the Sunday before Christmas today. Ice storms two weeks ago and 75 with tornados yesterday. I think I just want it to balance out before my sinuses explode.

Today was all day rain here. I yanked my new (to me) Penske shock for a rebuild at Traxxion tomorrow. I was hoping to put that off until spring or later...

I rode it ... nothing unusual to most... but in upstate NY 3 days before xmas, it's not always an option.

It was 2 degrees(f) the beginning of last week.. we had 10 or so inches of snow on the ground since last Sunday night...change in the weather and off we go.

And.. better yet, my teenage daughter... asked if she could go for a ride with me

ya gotta like that !

Tested its sliders. Or, more pedantically (who, me?), tested the right-hand slider.

It worked exactly as advertised. No damage even to the side case, at least not that I've found yet.

How? I was on a roof-top car-park, surface is bitumen (you know, a tar-snake all over). It was very gusty, squally weather. I was trying to hurry. Backing out of my parking space, wheel hard to the right. Stopped ready to go forward again, started to turn the bars to the left, and a combination of the lean induced by turning the bars, a sudden gust of wind, and the slippery surface under-foot.

Laid it down ever so gently, rested on the slider. Tip-over sensor didn't stop the engine.

So, some thoughts of stupidity for not taking more care, but no harm done.

Hmmm... I've tested my tip-over sensor three times and it has worked flawlessly each time.

Probably not great that the engine would keep running when it is reoriented by 90 degrees. Might want to investigate that further some time if you plan on allowing any repeat napping.

As for my FJR, I finally broke down yesterday and dosed each of my bikes' fuel tanks with stabilizer and topped them up with fresh fuel (from a can). This has been the longest stretch of un-rideable weather in the past three years here.

PMS is most definitely setting in.

Sat on my recently installed Laam custom seat and made Vroom! Vroom! noises. I wanted to go riding but I'm just getting over bronchitis. SWMBO said no!

I got my shock rebuilt and put it back on. Of course I got caught in Atl traffic and got home just as the last light was fading.

installed a power feed to my new tank bag...

washed and polished her highness

slathered her highness`s private parts with ACF-50
