We rode them about 330 miles. There is this lunch buffet just off the Natchez Trace in Lorman Mississippi that is just fantastic. The only fried chicken better than theirs is what Mom used to fry. That seemed like a good enough reason to ride a few hundred miles to me and Pop.

Took delivery on a Penske shock made for me. I'm so excited

Stopped by the local dealer on the way to work this morning to replace the front tire's SmarTire sensor. As they popped the bead off of wheel, metal and electronic shrapnel dropped out onto the floor. That might go a ways toward explaining the tpms error code the display was showing. The tpms strap obviously failed at some point. Could have been defective part or perhaps damaged / mis-tensioned at installation.

Didn't detract from the ride to work, though!

Nicest TPMS made if it weren't for how the sensors mount..... can you still get replacements? I still have my original display unit somewhere......

My son Trevor and I went for a 75 mile ride in the twisties of SW PA. Pretty nice for January 9th. Had a great time. Some salt and cinders on the roads in places, but didn't slow us up much. There were areas of dirt and water on the roads and our bikes ended up pretty filthy. Washed the bikes when we got home just in case we picked up any salt spray. Overall a great day.

Put 180 mile test ride on it today on a grey 49 degree day. Rode all my favorite roads, went around a clover leaf 4 times and found a roundabout to play in for a couple laps. After almost 6 weeks of not riding due to suspension overhaul, waiting on parts, vacation, holidays and a prolonged illness...it feels great to ride again!

Fresh gear oil in the rear gear thingy. Did engine oil/filter change a few days ago.

Ordered a couple of liters of fork fluid by phone from the Honda dealership in Penticton, since there ain't no more Yammy dealer unless I drive to Kelowna, and they're too damn pricey anyway.

No rush. Snow, ice and general awfulness on the highways & byways until mid March-ish, so plenty time to service the forks and the hydraulics.

Sigh.

No. But work did.

My day trip yesterday was extremely short. About 7 miles from the house, I got a flat in the rear, right in the center of the tire. I put a plug in it and it held 40 pounds of air, so I decided to ride on it a while. The road was still damp from the evening's rain. I noticed the front end not tracking quite right so I pulled over again. The left side of my front tire was worn in spots considerably more than everywhere else. This was very unusual in that it wasn't worn equally throughout the circumference of the tire, but only in spots. Where the wear existed, it was down to the point where there was no tread. I've never seen than on a tire before. Like normal, I checked tire pressure and examined the tire in my shop before left, but the worn spot must have been hidden by the fairing or the brake calipers.

So I turned around and went back home. On my crashed bike, before I left on my trip in the fall, I put a new set of tires. The original tires only had 2400 miles on them, so I kept them for hard times. Yesterday, I threw those back on. Had a chance to lube my drive shaft splines, wheel axles, etc. These should last me a few months, but I will be keeping a much closer eye on the tread wear.

Got to order a new set of Michelins next week. Who's got the best price now?

I did not take any pictures , unfortunately.

Picture a tire with 4700 miles of seemingly normal wear in the right side of it. On the left, in two spots, about 30 degrees of circumference worn through the tread.
