You got the prize Jon! Before I posted that pic, I had a good look at the other **** in the pic, because I know what kinda peeps hang out in this forum. I knew SOMEBODY would pick out the gantry.

So here's the story.

I dunno. The old guy with Alzhiemers who used to own the house was a mechanic at INCO. My guess that is where it came from. Sure to come in handy hoisting my 04 to remove the shock before sale.

 
I put the CeeBailey's headlight guards, that have been sitting in a box for almost a year, on, and I installed the new TechSpec Snakeskin bag protectors. Nothing big, but the headlight guards needed to be done!

Went for a putt with a couple riders yesterday. One happened to be escapefjrtist. George's bike was so damn clean I felt guilty so ...

Now I feel guilty because I even polished the chrome. Next thing you know I will be owning a Harley Davidson like Carver, Jimiejimie or curly joe. Oh the shame ....

Got the new tire on the rear wheel mounted finally. The dealer ripped the bead last Friday and had to order a replacement T30 rear. The KTM truck was parked out front giving demo rides. I passed cause I can't afford it. Got the tire on the bike and jumped in the pool and enjoyed this 87 degree sunny weather with the dog.

New tire day, the FJR is getting Pilot Road 4's front and back, the FZ is just getting a front, another Pilot Power.

First tire change on the still pretty new to me FJR, so I have a belt and suspenders, the 4x4's are there in case the jack were to lose pressure, the straps are for side to side stability. So now I have 3 wheels with tires and 3 news tires in my car, heading to my friends with the tire changer in the afternoon.

 
Finally cleaned and lubed the brake, kickstand and shifter pivots. Easy job, I don't know why I waited.

Is there a trick to stretching the return springs? Those kickstand springs are stiff.

 
Repaired a plastic post damaged by a dealership yrs ago. Bonehead tech didn't know about the post/rubber grommet on the front of the gas tank trim so he bent the crap out of it when he smashed it to get the trim to lay flat. Up until this yr it held but finally broke off. I ground down the edges to a vee and super glued it on. Came back later and filled it in with JB Weld. Good as new, beats the hell outta buying a new one. And this time when I installed it I dabbed it with a little moly lube paste so it won't stick so bad next time.

I still have one more repair to do- the spring clip holder for the black screw outboard of the digital display. They broke it too. The clip finally fell into the nether regions of the plastics. Gonna use Pig Putty to fix that. Been using it for yrs, great stuff, easy to work with. Frikkin dealerships....

You could lose an eye from those things if yer not careful.

If there is a I haven't found it yet. I cuss them every time.

Road mine to work today.
Nice to hear your Gen II doesn't use return springs anywhere. I suspect it gets tiring holding up parts with your foot, but then again, my throttle isn't slack to instant-on either.

Today was my first work commute with my modified final drive. RPM's are about 400 lower at any given speed, or speed is about 10 mph higher at any given rpm.

It's much smother at my commute speeds with reduced vibration in the bars. Other than hitting familiar curves a bit hotter, I'm liking this!
