The Gerber my boss just gave me as a "Thank You for all Your Hard Work."

Other than that, I have at least a half a dozen knives I rotate through. All of them are great in one way or another.

Bought 3 spyderco Tim Wegner series(part serated) off ebay many years ago for $45-$60 as they were being disco'd. Retail was $160. Luv'em, luv'em, luv'em!

Just opened my newest purchase today when I got home, a Bladetech Tim Wegner design MLEK Lite. Very nice! :clapping:

Like the spyderco wegner better as it's a liner-lock and easier to open and close one-handed.

Lot's of nice knives out there, but the Spyderco Wegner has a nice heft to it and is very solid!

This is my Favorite!

Of all the knives I have, this one is the best all-around. The grip is excellent with Sand paper like grip. It opens easily one handed due to the assisted opening feature. It has both serrated and non serrated blade. Holds an edge very well. Several models to choose from. I have two of them so far and also like to rescue knife version also. It has a window breaker pin on it too. Check it out.

I don't like a big knife in my pocket. I have tried several and have settled on a Kershaw DWO. It is a lock blade that that is relatively small but will hold an edge and is easily sharpened. I sent one back to the factory when the handle separated and they sent me a new knife. With any tool there are personal preferences, but like with Leatherman, Maglite and Kershaw, they are industry standards in quality.

Hey folks,

I know that I read less expensive in here some where, but the absolutly coolest knife that I have come across is this

https://www.microtechknives.com/utx70.html

My 'cousin-in-law' is part owner in a large east coast knife distributor and I am trying to get a deal. The smaller blade makes for a very usable 'pocket knife' even for a tactical knife. Not for all states though......even mine. :angry2:

Forgive me if the link does not work as expected... learning curve of the board.

Mary,

Do they make a holster you could mount that shotgun to the FJR? :)
Ask and you shall receive...<BG>

My shotgun only has an 18" barrel....<G>

Just noticed this thread. I likely own 90% of the knives mentioned. It be pretty hard for me to pick out just one "favorite".

One of my more constant companions is a Spyderco Bob Lum Tanto folder. This is just a damn nice blade. They do not make it anymore, although you can find them now and then online.

There is a photo on this page of the one I have:

https://tinyurl.com/2cxu2l

(The uncoated blade, not the blacked out one)

I also like the original Micheal Walker Blade Lock Knife by CRKT...agian not available now it seems...

For ones still available, for the money you can't go wrong with the Kershaw Liner lockblade seen here:

https://tinyurl.com/2h4aao

they made several blade configurations, but the plain blade in large is my favorite.

I like the other "assisted opening" knive they make ..I have the Rainbow Leek and the other "vegtables" , but really like the Whirlwind:

I think the Gerber line is not as well made as they used to be. I also had a Gerber AR 3 that I liked, but when I replaced it after it got lost, the new one was not up to the quality as the "old" one.

The price had dropped too, so perhaps that may have been a clue.

I'm not sure why someone posted they would not want a stainless steel blade..modern steels used in knives now are amazing, and as most pocket knives see all sorts of "enviroments" a stainless blade just makes too much sence.

For a fixed blade knife , I really like the Recon Tanto by Cold Steel , or the Hissatsu knife from CRKT with the titanium coated blade:

If you are just looking for a simple pocket knife, either tactical or fancy, you can't go wrong with a folder from Boker..they have many to choose from in every price range:

But if you really want something special, and have some money to burn, go here:

Knifemaker

Kershaw Ken Onion. I've had mine since Dec 04 and it is still sharp with just using a steel to keep edge. One hand operation

I owned cheap folders and then went up to Gerber, Benchmade and Kershaw knives. I really like my Ken Onion Chive and Scallion knives when carrying a big knife would provoke thought and dismay with co-workers. Some of their handle finishes make the knives downright elegant.

Recently, after learning I wouldn't misplace my pocket folder although I understand it can and may happen, I purchased an Emerson Mini-CQC-7BW knife. Black ops appearance with a strong blade but with only a 3" blade in case it gets the attention of law enforcement.

For road trips on the bike I have the Leatherman Charge TTi w/ bit set.

For cutting open boxes at work, I bought one of these Superknife SK utility knives. Replacing the the blades is cheap and it sure beats using the company provided dull utility knives.

Knives are addicting. Every so often I go searching for new knives but so far I've stopped myself from hitting the "BUY" button...OK occasionally I do hit the buy button.
