I don't know why you Northern Snow Dwellers live and stay in such an icy and snowy Hell Hole, la Chica muy Bonita Miss Debbie a la Paisana and her Papa Chuy Viejo are heading back to Costa Rica again ese! Mas Fiesta, mas Baile y mas Bebidas ese!
LMAO... u one funny dude Papa. I'll have to show Ms Debbie, she'll get a big kick outta yur effort and talents :)

KJ, don't compliment the old fellah. He'll get a bad case of the Big Head......

Too late -- nevermind....look at the size of that melon next to Ms Deb's noggin!

So - It's been unseasonably cold here in the NW, also. I needed to make a trip down to Prineville to check on our property there. Local temps there have been recorded to -18F, with considerable, unusual snow and ice all over the place. Even here on the island and roundabout the overnight temps have been in the 20's.

Rather than drive 400 miles each way over the cascades, with all manner of snow and ice, accidents and traffic snarls along the route, I flew my trusty airplane down there. About 2 hours each way, with no concerns about road conditions and with weather aloft no factor at all. Saved me 8-10 hours of driving, often in marginal road surface conditions. Instead the autopilot takes me along the route without a hitch.

Something worthy of note. While the air over most of the country on the surface is abnormally, bitterly cold, the air aloft is reasonably warm - at least over the route I flew. Well above freezing. No worries about icing at all.

Thanks for that advice. Next time I've got $750,000 lying around, I'll go to the Beechcraft King Air store.

(Is $750,000 enough for a King Air? I don't really know. Seems like the FJR of turboprop airplanes, though.)

Probably not nearly enough, at least for a new one. I know of many single-engine, fixed gear piston planes (Cirrus SR22, e.g.) that are over 600K.

The weather in my area could be describe as "unsettled":
Scary. Must be really, really, windy. To make matters worse, there's actually no such thing as -572 C (or F, for that matter).
Absolutely true ;) Here in New Hampshire my outdoor thermometer goes down to −459° for those times we get the Polar Vortex blow through like all of last winter. I'm sure Bungie's outdoor thermometer goes all the way down to −459.67°.

I couldn't tell ya. After a while, it's all just the same. The only difference the is the snow gets crunchier. Weirder still, when it gets REALLY cold, the snow stops being crunchy and instead squeaks when you step on it.

...

Course that squeaking could be me. My voice goes back to normal when my testicles descend in the spring.

50 degrees F here this afternoon. Would have loved to have gone out, but my riding is over until this shoulder heals, likely 6 - 8 weeks.

Just watched the Nightly News about Buffalo, man, that's some SERIOUS snow! Looks like Florida is gonna get some new transplants, as for some, this will be the snow to break the buffalo's back.

All the best, to any forum members having to deal with this.
