3* F When I left for work this morning. -20 with the wind chill.

13*F, warmed up from about 6 overnight. Near Washington, DC visiting friends. Looking forward to 4-7" of snow today, possibly ice on top of that before it's over. Think we'll take the train into the District today instead of driving.

Yesterday morning it was reading 5 deg F on the back porch and 22 deg in the garage. Had a heat lamp pointed toward the floor under the bike near the battery. Still, took about four cranks by the Shorai until it fired up, waiting 30 secs between cranks.

Had a base layer, toe warmers, heated liner and gloves, plus grips. Finger tips were damn cold when I got to work, but the rest was fine. Too much damn salt dust on the roads around DC.

Saw 71F on my ride in to work tonight. Bike was already dirty from yesterday's ride in the rain which is good because I will most likely ride home in the rain in the morning.

So far this winter it has either been cold or raining or cold and raining. Not a good winter for motorcycle riding yet I still find myself riding this new FJR more than I rode my old ST1300.

I was out snow blowing and shoveling again today when I suddenly realized a most depressing fact, over the past 12 months my snow blowing hours are a 3:1 ratio to lawn mowing hours. Wrong, very wrong.

-30 again this morning. Yee'F'nHaw.

On the bright side, it looks like the temps will start rising over the next two weeks into the more 'normal' territory.

On the dark side, that means it'll start snowing again.

Dad gum white out here today.

I'm headed to Greenville, SC where it's sunny and warm....

Went swimming in the Satilla River near Nahunta, GA, on Sunday. Too cold for alligators; only a little chilly for humans.

Wtf, snow tonight and snow Wednesday night? I thought I moved to the south.
You did, man. Atlanta's prepping for complete paralysis tomorrow: sleet and perhaps an inch of snow! OMG!!!

This week will be G-ville's entire 2015 snow season. It's the ominous reminder of what winter could be, and sets us up for those March showers which bring April flowers.

Sleet and wintry mix a few miles north of me so I left the FJR at home tonight and drove my truck. I just don't want to scratch up my new bike again. I will admit that my 4wd diesel GMC was quite cozy and warm for my drive in to work tonight. If there is ice and sleet on the road in the morning I will actually feel pretty smart for a change.
