    michelin PR2's and Dynabeads

I tried them. I hated that they took "a while" to balance out. For example riding at 60 mph, go to pass at 80 mph, the front tire would vibrate as I accelerated and for a while until the beads adjusted to the new speed. Not confidence inspiring. Now I use the Parnes tool and lead. It is...

    Whats Your Christmas Farkle?

If only I still believed in Santa Claus maybe there would be new Super Tenere under my tree. Maybe I should have put up a tree. :dribble: I'll be installing a new harness from Randy to run new blaster horns. Now I need weather to ride in. Installed new GPsuspension in October and need...

    Balaning tires for high speed

+1 Dyna Bead did not work for me. They are good at 70, but at 100 they vibrate like crazy til they "re-balance."

    Final drive failure

Just had my final drive unit replaced. The pinion bearing failed causing the pinion gear to wear on the ring gear. At the end of a 10 day ride I noticed there was much more noise coming from the drivetrain. Thankfully there was a complete unit at yamaha. (Only 1 in the US.) The Facts...

    My FJR Made the Paper!

Kyle, This is a great project. Your connection to Marcus Whitman Jr High should make the Walla Walla area of special interest to you and your students. Whitman Mission is a good stop. Whitman college is, well, here. If you are in WW overnight you MUST visit Jazzmusician at the Backstage...

How is the road to Bella Coola, BC??

The ferrry ride was very good. It rocked and rolled for about 2 hours in the open water, but not too bad. Weather was excellent. We saw eagles, humpback whales, orca, porpoise, and lots of jumping salmon. Pretty cool. Sleeping in the comfy chairs was barely OK. Best would be to have a pad...

How is the road to Bella Coola, BC??

Now I can answer my own question. I rode The Hill....today. Took the ferry from Port Hardy and rode from Bella Coola over to Williams Lake. Conditions were excellent. Cool and dry. It really was not a big deal. If you are somewhat used to riding on unpaved roads it is very much doable...

Camping on the way from the SF Bay Area

Brodie, You might consider overnighting in Walla Walla rather than Pomeroy. There is more to see and better restaurants. It'll add about an hour to your Thursday morning ride. You could even eat at the Backstage bristo. It is owned by jazzmusician, a forum member and FJR nut. I'm sure it...

    Things to Do At WFO-8!

If coming from the southwest throught Dayton, Washington going over Lower Granite Dam is an option. BUT, it is not open all the time. I am trying to make contact with the Corps of Engineers to get the open hours. The route is Dayton to Lower Deadman Rd (just before Central Ferry) to Lower...

Streets & Trips with Garmin Zumo 450

FNG Post. I downloaded Microsoft Streets & Trips and I've sort of figured out how to make a route. It looks pretty good with nice features. My problem is how to convert the file formats to something the Garmin Zumo can read. Is this practical? How is it done? I definately appreciate the help.

How is the road to Bella Coola, BC??

I am planning a B.C. ride for this coming summer. The ride on hwy 20 from Williams Lake to Bella Coola looks like a beautiful route coupled with a spectacular ferry ride to Port Hardy. The big question is the quality of the road to Bella Coola. Is is a road that the FJR can easily handle...

    G2 Throttle Tube

I am using the G2 on my '07 AE. Works fine w/ heated grips. I also use Grip puppies for "fatter" grips. Mike

    Throttle Lock with Heated Grips.

I purchased a Madco cam-lock throttle lock. Having trouble installing it on the '06 AE with the factory heated grips. I am not sure how to route the electrical wires for the grips. Does anyone have experience with this? Alternatively, is there a different throttle lock that will work easily...
