2005 FJR For Sale in Southwest Florida

I'm offering my '05 Galaxy Blue FJR to help finance my next FJR. I have put 95,000 miles on this one and am looking at moving to an '08 with under 10k miles so I can start running up the miles on another one. Love that FJR! Mine has bar risers, gorilla alarm, Sargent seat w/backrest and is...

    Chain's still "jumping", now what?

Gentlemen, Thanks so much for the analysis, suggestions and such. I feel more at ease with the "noise" now and will take the advice you guys seem to agree on, "no worries, just ride the damn thing". It has served me well, so far, and I hope to pile on at least another 60,000 miles over the...

    Chain's still "jumping", now what?

I started with a valve adjustment. Found the two outside exhaust valves "tightened up" just beyond spec. so I pulled the exhaust cam and replaced the shims on the two valves out of spec. At the same time I replaced the CCT (per the advice of the forum). I painstakingly reset the timing and...

    Chain's still "jumping", now what?

I pulled the cover to double check the tensionser was doing it's thing. I worked the cover off without pulling the retainer pin and found the chain to be tight. I almost wish I found something awry. I thought about sprockets being worn also but haven't heard any mention of changing sprockets in...

    Chain's still "jumping", now what?

Sorry, I guess I meant "visualize. Cold idle is probably 1500 to 1800 then when it hits the first bar it settles down to around 1100. I seem to get small spikes in the rev's as it sits and idles.

    Chain's still "jumping", now what?

I've adjusted the valves, replaced the CCT with the "blue dot" model and replaced the cam chain on my '05 with 62,000 miles thanks to all of the help on this forum. Unfortunately, at cold idle speed I can almost "see" and can surely hear and feel the chain jumping around. I have also tried the...

    Working on the Bucket List

Left home in Venice, FL on May 23rd and rode for six straight days to arrive in S. Lake Tahoe where my wife was flying in, so we could get in a couple of days of great riding from Tahoe to Salt Lake City. Problem was, when I arrived at our friends house where I was hoping to spend an extra...

    Las Vegas area Hotels

Only 6300 more miles to go......or is it I only get to go 6300 miles......I'll probably be wishing for more, but getting back home after a long trip is always good.

    Las Vegas area Hotels

Barry, I've already paid for a room at the Silverton. I do appreciate your offer. It's nice to know the FJR community is full of caring people. I'll be getting in to Las Vegas in the evening and probably get a light meal and then crash. I'll be finishing my 5th day on the road with one more...

    Las Vegas area Hotels

I'll try GunMD, Thanks FJRpig. Indian Springs worked out in mileage, I was a little afraid of the Big City, but it sounds like I'll be giving it a try, Thanks RenoJohn Staying away from New York, New York; definitely looking for some quiet resting time, thanks TCMike.

    Las Vegas area Hotels

Hey Guys and Gals, I'm traveling from Florida to South Lake Tahoe the end of May and will be spending one night in the Las Vegas area. I had penciled in Indian Springs for a stop over but am having a hard time finding a Hotel there. Every web site directs me to Las Vegas. Most of the major...

    Dealer installed wrong rear tire

I ran a set of Dunlop Qualifiers a while back and really liked the confidence they gave in the twistiies. I got 4500 miles out of the set. I'm running Storms now and they don't offer the same "feel" as the sport bike tires but I'm sure they will give more mileage. The front end has a wobble at...
