Anyone look at the FZ1 first?

My major drawback is the color. Saw one in Daytona and the red does nothing for me. I've comfortably done many 1,000 mile days on my BLUE Fz-1 with camping gear.

    pdp transfer

SInce they have more than 30 PDP sales chances are good that 5 will change their minds for whatever reason ...... but I am far from bikeless :D and can wait for the next PDP go-around! Gives me more time to compare the FJR and BMW-GT too

    pdp transfer

What I do know is that I'm 5th on their waiting list and I was quoted a price of $11499 so I guess they get that thumbs up! :D

    pdp transfer

For sales to non-PDP buyers D&H does not sell to the highest bidder - they have a waiting list and sell to first come first served at the fixed price.

    pdp transfer

YOU COULDN"T BE MORE WRONG - Damn - looks like I'll have to do the math for you :o D&H will sell an 06 FJR A for $11,499.00 The original purchaser pays the $500 deposit and owes $10,999. The original purchaser is the ONLY one D&H can afford to let roll the bike out the door for $10,999...

    pdp transfer

You aren't really understanding the problem either. A dealer can't return the deposit to anyone other than the original PDP purchaser - otherwise Yamaha keeps it. All other deals are just that - bargaining deals with prices and margin determining how a dealer wants to handle the sale. If the...

    pdp transfer

You are really taking a simple process and making it difficult - you were the PDP purchaser so as far as that goes you are correct as long as you purchase the bike. For another non-PDP purchaser you are WRONG. Yours WAS a deposit and as long as you purchase the bike it is a deposit. If you...

    pdp transfer

Because then the new buyer is now paying $500 extra for the bike that won't be refunded to anyone and Yamaha keeps the original purchasers's deposit !!! :o YES - THE MATH IS SIMPLE! - It isn't a deposit when it doesn't go towards the purchase price it IS A FEE.

    Crotch Rocket

Short description: If it belongs on a track but can be ridden on the street - it's a crotch rocket.

    Gear Indicator

OK - then don't need a tach either! BMW owners went through the same discussion years ago when BMW started putting the indicator on their bikes. A dealer pretty much ended the discussion by pointing out that EVERY owner with a gear indicator that was malfunctioning quickly...

    Gear Indicator

No one in this thread complained about not having another gear - they were just complaining about having the gear indicator. All threads morph though ..... cuz I started out defending the new FJR then made fun of it :P . As to the Connie - that should be a new thread in a different forum...

    Go Buy a REAL Motorcycle!!!

My standard Harley answer is: I could afford the bike couldn't afford the wardrobe :D !

    Gear Indicator

That's why I'm interested in an 06 FJR or a Burgman to add to my stable! :D I've heard they're similar but the FJR has a little more power.

    Gear Indicator

Yes - the only bikes I find I don't try for another top gear are my BMW's with gear indicators and the V-Strom that has a 6th gear light. Yes - a gear indicator isn't needed but once you have one you'll miss it if it isn't there - kind of like heated handgrips, gas guage, temp guage, ABS...

    Gear Indicator

Yeah - but how many times have you shifted into 6th ??????? :o

    Yami Dealers

The offer is open to ANYONE on a bike (some sport riders hauled here once and the Harley guys won't let me forget it) - just check with me to ensure the cabin is available for the dates you want it! It's much harder for me to point out the straight roads - there is only one 5 north between...

    Yami Dealers

Tony, I couldn't ask for a better offer. I know it isn't easy for dealers to set up test rides and my policy of not buying anything I haven't tested may not be reasonable but my other policy of NEVER getting rid of a bike with less than 20K on it means I have to "dance with the one that brung...

    Yami Dealers

Let me see if I understand you: first it is bad for dealers to choose their product then it is worse for the customers to choose????? Guess it's either the manufacturers or government who dictate ....... I can see why this is a touchy subject for you guys. Here in the country the choice is...

    Yami Dealers

After 30 years of riding bikes my wife finally shamed me into getting my first real crotch rocket - she actually said I ought to get one before I need a trike! :o One of the things I enjoy about it is the attitudes I find on the Ninja (Kawiforums) that I've never experienced before - even...
