Change the handlebar angle - have you done it?

On the Gen 1 FJR the angle was fine, but I needed bar risers to keep my wrists comfortable. On the Gen 2, the height was fine for me, but the slightly different angle of the grips would cause some discomfort on long days for me. I did the mod back then (about 25k ago) and have had no issues...

    Caseless in Seattle

Don't assume that at all Jed. One of the very first things I did on my 06 was check the suspension settings and sure enough, just like my other FJRs, there was no rhyme or reason to the factory settings at all. In fact, on the forks, they weren't even the same left to right.

So . . . . worth keeping and upgrading? Or get a new bike?

I've got a friend who has a Wing and I've spent enough time on it to completely respect it for what it is. The problem is, what it is, isn't me. While I've certainly throttled back a touch in the last few years, I still have my days. Actually, where as I rode my first FJR more like a sportbike...

    Caseless in Seattle

Bags off unless I'm going to be gone overnight. On my first FJR I rode with the bags on almost all the time. But, my garage/driveway situation makes it easier without the bags. After awhile I just came to like it that way. I have a Yamaha tankbag and a T-Bag for the rear for the days where Jenny...

MY FJR IS KILLING ME !!!!

Something is definately amiss. I can't think of a bike I've ever riden that caused me that much discomfort in 100 miles in one day, much less spread out over 5. While the stock seat a'int great, I can't see it hurting you that bad in that few miles without some sort of existing physical problem...

    The End of an Era

I suppose it's to late to return the side case cover I ordered for my shiny new 03 and never used. It does bring back good memories of Jooshead and the old Euro board though. Sorry to see them go.

    FRJ A OR AE?

If this was just a **** measuring contest I'm sure I could swing with the best of them. If that was the point. I have ridden with, and work right next to guy who got real famous in the 70's as a world champion. (His last name is Baker, look it up) The guy who bought my '04 raced professonally...

    Ignition fix

Mine arrived yesterday and will be installed this weekend. Great kit Brodie and the Tootsie Rolls were a nice added touch for a chocolate fiend like myself. Thanks again.

    08' AE smooth take off??

Mine has had a slight "shudder" when taking off while it is warming up since it was new. I had it looked at by the dealer and everything was fine. 2 years and 30,000 miles later it's safe to say it is probably just the nature of the beast. As for your driving record, good luck with that. The...

FJR rider article in SF chronicle

I hope you do motochick. I started doing the long trips back in the early 90's on a V-65 Magna. As spartan as that bike was as a long distance mount, it gave me the bug. Bad. When the FJR came along, it opened a whole new world to me in regards to the bike part of the trips. Seeing the country...

FJR rider article in SF chronicle

Good stuff. Throw in some Colorado, Arizona, Southern and Eastern Utah, a little New Mexico and it sounds a lot like the ride Jenny and I took in July. We may have even crossed paths as every year we see more and more FJRs out doing what they do best, racking up the miles. We went 5500 miles on...

    Still in Lust

Gunny that. About as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. Hmmm, that gives me an idea.

    A Q-tip works great too.

Brodie, if I'm not to late, sign me up for one as well.

    Should I buy the AE?

If you are reading this and still haven't bought it, you have wasted time you could have been riding. Buy it and never look back.

RenoJohn violates the Pacific NW ...Nice Long Weekend

Great stuff John. And to think as I pulled into that hotel I thought it was just gonna be another routine stop. Yeah, Riiiiiiigt. Tell ya what, the Visgoths sacking Rome got nothing on us, Kellogg will never be the same. It was a pleasure to meet and ride with you. I'm counting on doing it...

    We Lost A Great Friend

What a sad way to be reminded that life is short, don't waste a single minute. RIP TWN.

    AE????????

While on my trip this summer, I was gassing the bike up after we had checked into the hotel for the night. This guy noticed I was from a few states away and started asking about our trip etc. It was real obvious he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, so as I was getting ready to take off I...
