    Gear for my wife

Do you mean wearing an aerostich suit in the middle of the desert like this: The aerostich suits are amazing & well worth the investment. My S/O has the one-piece & i wear either my two piece or one piece depending on the weather. We both find them comfortable, secure and completely...

    Communications Systems

I had the same setup - Scala rider Q2 teamset, then moved to the Starcom1 digital. The Q2 is a really good 'budget' setup - but the starcom is in a completely different league . The J&M looks like a great piece of kit too, but i'd be scared to leave the bike unattended with the handebar...

    Looking for a new Helmet.

I use a Nolan N103 (n-com) on my goldwing. I'd have to say that the Multitec would be a better choice for the FJR, as it does have much better venting, it is sooo much lighter & it performs better in wet weather (i had beads of water running in through the N103's visor - and it got pretty...

    Looking for a new Helmet.

Are you riding with the stock screen? I found that all my helmets (both f/f and flip) were unbearably noisy until i replaced the screen with a CB +4+4 flip. Now i can ride visor up and enjoy the breeze (at least 'til i get hit in the eye by a rogue mosquito  )

FRENCH!?!?!? You Sir, deserve a slap on the face for calling me & my bike French. <_< And since the tank stickers annoy you so much....then they stay B)

    Some more farkles...

Did'nt you know that black is a slimming color?? :P . . . . . . . Actually, i opted for the city cases. After having a BMW with MASSIVE side cases, i was so happy to have slim cases for lane-splitting & rush hour traffic. The only drawback is the fact that you CANNOT fit a full face...

    Looking for a new Helmet.

Bought it from Mike at https://www.sportouring.co.uk Paid 405 GBP each (around $590 USD) - i had to buy 2 as the S/O deserves the best as well :assassin: He also installed the starcom headsets for me & assisted me with every little annoying question i had. Absolutely top-notch service!

    Some more farkles...

Been installing some toys on the FJR and thought I'd share some pics: Starcom1 rider input (cannibalized a bulkhead fitting by splitting into two): GPS + techmount (will be used for digital tire pressure monitor from Doran: Starcom1 + bluetooth for rider & passenger Passenger...

    Looking for a new Helmet.

I have a Shoei multitec & just took delivery of a Schuberth C3. Honestly, you won't go wrong with either. The schuberth (size S) fits my head better (more snug) and it exudes quality. Weight is not an issue as it is distributed well and the interior is more 'plush' than the shoei. It feels...

    Headset/Intercom TOTAL NEUB........

How about the starcom1 digital with the PROFIT kit. This kit basically does away with all the exposed wires and leaves two waterproof connection points (one for the rider and the other for the passenger ANYWHERE you choose on the bike). If you are serious about your kit and don't mind spending...

    Which windshield is best

Congrats on your FJR purchase. A few details would be helpful...like your height, inseam, etc. I'm 6' 1" with a 33" inseam. I have a Cee Baileys 2+2+flip, a 4+4+flip, a 3+4+flip and a Calsci large. No doubt that for me, the Cee baileys 4+4+flip is the best out of the bunch. I have just...

    Russell v. Corbin

I appreciate your comments, but i did not compare the corbin & russell just so someone could tell me the Goldwing has comfier seats. Most of us KNOW that the russell seats on the wing are far more comfortable. But i wanted to help the good people on this FJR forum who still sitting on the fence...

    vstream windshield

Consider yourselves lucky. I paid the equivalent of $243 (170 GBP) in the UK for the Vstream! So anyone paying $160+ is still getting a great deal. I've yet to install it because i have been so impressed with the cee baileys 4+4+flip. Here is the link...

    FRAME SLIDERS

Here are some Meissner sliders i purchased from https://www.bikejohnny.com/cgi-bin/store/BK...gno=YA40-09-227 They are sturdy, well made and the Yamaha mechanics said they were amongst the nicest they have come across. Maybe they were just being polite, though <_<
