Yep, only thing that reset itself was my trip mileage...I didn't look real close at my clock...I will check that next time I get on. Everything else stayed the same...my custom menus, etc. were all unchanged. So you're saying that the permanent odometer, clock, screen settings, etc, all stayed as is? That's about one small step short of miraculous."Ahhh, Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."
After a 45 minute remove and replace procedure the new ECU was placed in its new home. Temperatures here in the northland are brisk. Test flight was taken at 37 degrees indicated on the FJR's thermometer. Bike fired immediately after replacement. No other actions were required. Only thing I lost was my current trip mileage. Everything was same as before. Start was immediate and she settled right in at 1100 rpm. Out to the freeway and a quick run up to 84, engaged the CC and engagement was immediate. Up and down adjustments work just fine.
For those who want to get by the limiter...construction of a 2013.5 FJR1300 is a viable option.
SUCCESS!
Enabling the cruise and setting the speed above 80 made all of the mocking and snarky comments fade into the background. Oh what we pioneers must deal with as we blaze that trail
My clock did reset...so clock and trip odometers did reset.
