The Ozark Cafe has been mentioned in email as well. I am hoping to hear the back story about this place.........specifically about a certain waitress that "loves" one of our forum members. Griff is reportedly aware of the story. It will be up to him to protect the names of the innocent or guilty party.

Thank you for the advice.

Dang - I am aware of another place where the sweetie loves someone, but not this place. That forum member gets around.

Lots of great roads, these are a couple routes we did last year:

I used to be in love with a waitress at Coco's. She was young enough to be my granddaughter, but she would have been an adorable granddaughter.

This is the place with the friendly waitress....

Marty's got his act together (never thought I'd write that) - those are dam fine riding roads - every one of 'em.

I'd avoid Hwy 23 (the Pig Trail) - the pavement is getting worn and it's usually full of pirates on the good weather weekends.

Hwy 341 (Push Mountain Road) was made for the FJR - high speed sweepers for MILES and MILES and MILES. The "5th gear kind".....

I took it upon myself to make some calls and connected with the manager of the Harrison Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and the Quality Inn. It turns out they're all owned by the same outfit.

Soooo, I got a rate of $76.49 + tax/night at the Quality Inn for a 2-queen room. The total is $261.60 for in-Friday / out-Monday. The other's are $90+tax and up.

There are four rooms (including mine, so three left) being held under my name, Marty Walsh. The easiest way to book would be to call (870) 741-7676 and have them change a room to you.

I just figured I'd pull the trigger and get something solidified. If ya'll want something else I'm cool with it.

You rock!

Awesome move getting that ball rolling. This will be such a good time. Just show up and ride. Nothing organized other than "we are going to be in the area riding and anyone is welcome to tag along."

Marty - well done, thanks.

I'm gonna hold out for a camping option. The Harrison campground is HORRIBLE, but there are some F/S campgrounds close enough and if the Buffalo isn't running by then, I should be able to wedge in there. I can simply get up early (which I usually do anyway) and zip over to meet you guys.

I'm jonesing about riding the Ozarks this morning.

I would prefer camping myself but if most folks are in a motel guess I'll stay with the group my first time out.

I plan to be down in the Shawnee National Forest motocamping this weekend. First over-night with baby.

Allen and I have been figuring out a route to get there. It seems we will be meeting in Marshall Illinois on Friday Morning. Heading to Harrison that night. The mileage is around 500 from Marshall. Allen has about 90 to get to Marshall and I have about 50. It will be a long day but worth it as we get into Missouri. The trip across IL will be a little lame, but we flat landers always get punished to get to the good riding. Any suggestions on good roads would be appreciated. We have a pretty good idea, but would love to hear any gems of info you have. Places to eat or things to drive by. Looks like we are going to cross the Mississippi around Chester IL.

Thanks.

I'd look in the 2006, 2007 or 2008 Hooterville theads. There might be a posted turn sheet of some good roads.

Or look at Google maps and take yer pick of roads...

Hwy 160 each of Branson is good. But to ride that would really extend your travel distance, I'm afraid. That's all I got - I haven't ridden Mo very much.
