Just sent this out to the N TX mailing list but thought I'd post here for those that check here more often or aren't on that list.

Sorry I haven't provided any more details about riding Sat, June 10th. Here is the scoop. I think Sarah and I are going to ride pretty much the same route up to Muenster that we followed with Todd last weekend. She'll be riding her little Ninja 250 so the pace will likely be a bit slower though we wouldn't mind meeting up with people at the start and then catching up at that same restaurant. After lunch, we'd like to do a short two up jaunt north of Muenster and then back towards St Jo then back to Muenster to get her bike and make our way back. I'll plot out the exact route tonight and send it out to the group. If anyone wants to come along, I think we'll meet at that same convenience store at Trophy Club Drive and Hwy 114 in Southlake (? or is that still Grapevine?) We'd like to go kickstands up about 8am.

So that's our plan and anyone and everyone is welcome to come along, zip ahead, or mozey along behind.

I'll be right behind ya....in my bed dreaming of puppy dog tails and other animals that might be tasty when cooked on a grill. Got gerbil?

I don't blame anyone for sleeping in tomorrow. Looks like it's going to be a hot one. The basic route we're going to follow is the one I got from bmwhd earlier this week.

The route from Trophy Club is to take Hwy 114W to Hwy 377N to FM 407 W to Justin.

From Justin, go N. on Hwy 156 to Krum. Once through the stop sign in Krum, keep left on to FM 2450 through Bolivar and then one up to Hwy 51. Go N. on Hwy 51 to Hwy 922 and then take that East to FM 1198. Go N. on 1198 through Myra until you hit Hwy 82 and take that West into Muenster.

can't get there --- england vs paraguay 8 am --- don't you guys know about the worlds biggest sporting event!!!!

Not baseball -- not football -- real football The World Cup. The US has a very good team this year as well.

I really want to thank Gary for braving the hot weather today and joining us. Sarah hit a patch of gravel at one point (low speed) and got up close and personal with roadside grass. She's a little sore but was wearing all the gear and fared well all things considering The the little ninja has some cosmetic damage but seems to be running fine.

We spent some time talking about it after we got home and discussed the how's and why's. I think we'll probably head over to Pennington field next weekend to practice on a few things, but like I told her, gravel is always bad news, now it's just a matter of learning from it.

Thanks again to Gary for his company as well as his help.

Marcos--- I am sorry to hear about your wife's mishap but am glad to hear she is OK. Gravel surely is one of motorcyclist's big nemesis. [ My dog distracted me in the middle of my message sending. LOL]

Glad she is ok! I hope she's not to shaken to get back on the horse. I've noticed that a lot of the roads north of the metroplex have that loose gravel surface.

Be careful out there everyone!

Wow Marcos, so glad your wife is OK. Hope she still has her confidence. Great news that her body armor worked as advertised. Feel justified now of the minute it takes to put it on, it is worth it.

My Bro lowsided my MG V11 and had a helmet and armored jacket on. Wore jeans and got his legs scraped. No gloves and damaged his hands. The jacket was ripped up and he cracked a tooth on the visor of a 3/4 helmet.

Lessons learned -- if he had armored pants and a full face helmet he would have been unscathed!

The moto guzzi was repaired with 3000 bucks worth of parts and is now pristine again. First time i actually worked on a bike and it was a learning experience!

We've talked about it several times and how she could approach things differently. She agrees that she needs to change her approach to dealing with intersections and adjust her speed for possible road conditions.

As far as the damage to the bike, we've got a few scuffs and will likely replace the turn signals with flushmounts and we'll also need to track down a front fender.

As far as her confidence, she had a much more self assured look in her eyes this morning when we talked about it. I was a bit worried yesterday, but today she really looks like she's ready to get back on the horse.

It just takes a little while to regain the confidence. Good Luck and thank goodness she wasn't hurt more seriously.

Well boys and girls. For those of you who missed the ride this last Saturday, you missed a wonderful toasty day. You would have been proud of Sarah. She has the right mentality to become a very good motorcyclist. All she need is more experience. It was fun to meet some new riders. Hope to meet some of the other riders on another ride in the near future.

GP :)

The last time I hooked up with the group I was the only one riding. Won't say why....don't want to embarras anyone.

We're not going there for legal reasons, gp. As for fjrchik....she doesn't ride because it might mess her hair up.

This is the offseason.
Well Chik, Does this mean you are not riding to the WFO?
No, I'm not riding out there. As I mentioned in one of the WFO threads, there are alot of reasons that prevent me from doing that. Time off, not enough time to get a custom seat made, not an iron butt girl, etc. I have relatives in Reno that I'm staying with and using their car, so flying was the better/cheaper/quicker option. Taking my gear and riding with a friend while out there though.

I'm gonna ride my bike to the movie theater tonight to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 2. I usually do more night riding during the summer but have just been lazy this year. I'm also gonna start commuting on the bike on Monday! New job assignment allows me to dress casually so now I can ride to work again. Good timing as gas prices are goin up!

Well now that makes some sense. Especially if you have someone to ride with. Like your new avatar, but not your new personal picture. Ha!
