Any more long distanced travelled people signing up to this?

Hate to think that Bill and I will get the long distance award.
As much as I'd love to go, its really hard to justify when the travel time is about 3x the actual event time.
Steve-O, let me put it this way Amigo! I'd ride mi Motocicleta 3K miles to Veracruz Estado Mexico to be with Salma Hayek, even though the actual event only takes 12 minutes (3 of those are my making Salma a Margarita before we get into bed for ***!). Comprende, ese!

Oh really.... How about the guy that is going to EOM and take three days to get there and three days to get home.

OR how about the same guy that rode for three weeks and attends three rallies which only lasted a total of 6 days?

Listen

You get your bike here and we will get it there and back. Then you can fly.....

Muchas Gracias mi Amigo Tomaso, for reminding me to post up available airlines that connect with Moab. Ray is still looking for a Dual Sport bike with a built-in ice cube dispenser for his rye & cokes. I told him that I premix my rye & cokes and then add the ice cubes when I'm loading my camelbak but that was too low tech for Ray.

1: 4 days travel, 3 day event, and those travel days count as good days (SE Ohio, Virginia, Tennessee.. that's just good ridin'!)

2: The rallies were just a reason. Pfft. Like we need reasons. We don't need no stinkin' reasons!

But this one.. what.. 8 days travel time through the most mind numbing terrain on the continent for 3 days of awesome. Basically, use up all my vacation time for a long weekend. That is the same reason I didn't go to NAFO.

You forgot to add the part about being a member of the UI (Unemployment Insurance) Racing Team at the time.

The Ontario Hydro Retirees Racing Team has been berry, berry good to me.

Vacation time? What is this vacation time??

There is an easier way to trap a Canuck. Just dangle a Tim Horton's donut in front of the trailer door. When Bungie lunges for the donut we shove him in the trailer, lock the door and then we can be on our way.

Oh no, I'm not falling for that AGAIN. Last time it was a urinal cake with sprinkles on it.

Bill, smear the donut in Poutine and you have him for sure eh!

Just got back from riding the Seguin Trail. 80km of graded gravel (about 2km worth!), two track (about 50km worth, lots of rocks and mud holes), single track (20km) and no track/bush. I mean _bush_, some of the waterholes were bottomless and we literally were busting down saplings powering our way around. BTW busted dead fall hurts like a ***** when it gets under your chest protector.

We got as far as Sprucedale for lunch (the Sprucedale Restaurant looks a little run down but the food is awesome!) where some locals told us a beaver damn has flooded the trail pretty bad. We made a group decision to make that the turn around point. I was pooped by that point so I decided to go all Super-Moto on 518 back to the hotel. Jim (KTM 400EXC) and Scott (CRF250R - does a great impression of a submarine!) must've been bustin' *** because they made it back in 2 hours (it took 3 to get out there).

What a blast but I'm _spent_. Gettin' old sucks, but I'd do it again in heartbeat. No spills but we all bobbled a few times in some unexpected deep sand/whoops.

Some pics on facebook.

Verdict on the CRFL: Very capable, even with the DOT tires, the front forks are sprung about right for my weight and reasonably well damped. The back, not so much. Push it hard and it pushes you back, just as hard. Bike needs a bash plate, some good DOT knobbies and a gearing change (1st is to low, 2nd needs to be taller, 3rd needs to be lower). Taken for what it is (a cheap trail bike) it does remarkably well. You just need to slow it down when the going gets tough.

You should bring the Honda to Codrington tomorrow for the last Cross Country for the season. When I was out arrowing the course I had my GoPro running and shot this preview of tomorrow's event .....
Looks great, but I think I'm dirt biked out for another week... er 2 weeks.

My buddy Jim (you met Jim at Parry Sound) had his Contour HD running. The batteries on that thing only last about 2-3 hours though.

Oh ya, nice tip over, cookie.
