You guys are putting a lot of pressure on Fred W and I to pull off a good ride. Hope we can handle it. ;)

I like your style! ;)

Swag is Fred handing out condoms telling folks they're grip covers to keep the morning dew off 'em to keep from gettin slippery and all. Just sayin' :p

And I don't care who talks, as long as it aint Aroostook! That guy has this oddest damned fetish he confessed to: life-like, miniaturized blow up dolls  . Something to do with his inability to realize his dream of making it with a midget or something. Every conversation we've had, he's always brought that up . . . . for the record, I DO NOT recommend this guy as keynote speaker for this event!

I hope the NAFO organizers ain't following this thread, 'Jag!

Intech is one of the NAFO organizers this year. My post about the numbers was a little bit of "inside" teasing at the relatively slow commitment rate for folks to NAFO so far. But, there is one big HUGE difference between any New England ride and NAFO this year: the ROADS!!

While our New England roads are fun, and scenic, they pale in comparison to the motorcycling mecca down south. I think that is the main reason we will never see a National (or even an EOM) up in the northeast. Though my vacation ride through the Adirondacks last week has me thinking that it is a possible location.

I have to disagree with you on not having an EOM up in the north country. I think there are plenty of areas that are worthy of a regional meet. there are still many more roads up there that I want to explore on the bike. I think EOM up there would be a nice change of pace.

I'm not going to NAFO- have a hot date with the wife and two motorcycles!

Deductive reasoning and the English language are skills I see you have as of yet to possess. Don't make me explain the aforementioned statement to you. . . . it could embarrass you!

Now go get back to your midget sex dolls and remember, it's Friday! :****:

See why you don't want this guy speaking at the New England NAFO??

Not to spin this thread too far off but my earlier comments were just a "from the hip" reply, I agree with Fred 100% that although I (we) have not been able to attend a NAFO or EOM as of yet, I have read all of members posts/pics/vidios with envy

as to the riding at these meets. I hope to be fortunate enough to make these events but for now we must take what we can get

and a chance to ride some of N.E. roads WITH forum members and enjoy their company is for us is a great time. That's another great thing about this forum.. Ride and get together when you can... no pressure,no worries. Thanks to Fred,Tom,CJ and others for making these events possible.

CJ your comments about Aroostook have me very concerned will we have to circle the wagons at night LOL

No worries, I agree with both you and Fred! :) The roads down south are tough to beat, unless maybe you're out west.

As for 'Stook? Well, you're just right about the wagon thing.... don't worry though, as long as your NOT the shortest one in the group, he won't bug you. Kinda like being NOT the slowest in a group when being chased by a bear thang....... ;) (Did I mention he's into midget perversions?)

I'd love NOTHING better than to host EOM up here in the North East someday. I'd help with it for sure.

Tom

Miniaturized blow up dolls CJ......You say that like it's a bad thing ??? It isnt is it ????

I think we have enough roads and POI to support three or four days worth of riding, easy. A days worth of VT, a days worth of NH, semi-coastal Maine with intrusions to the the ocean for specific places, Cats and Daks..... hell yeah!

Let's try and keep this thread on topic for this ride.

We can allow the other threads here and here, to wander to other tangents.

Thanks! (I suppose the fact that we have 3 threads running concurrently around this ride weekend is a bit presumptuous...)

Below are links to Google Maps of the "approximate" routes that we will be running Saturday and Sunday of this ride.

New Hamshire Whites Route (Saturday)

Mapsource stats (which are much closer to reality than GoogleMaps estimates):

238 miles, ~ 6 hours saddle time (plus all breaks)

Vermont Greens Route (Sunday)

Mapsource stats:

293 miles, 6:33 saddle time (plus breaks)

Some folks have expressed a desire to bail out and hit the slab sometime during the Sunday VT ride in order to get back home. Something about a need to work on Monday morning!! :glare: The premium bailout / slab home options on Sunday would be to back track south just after lunch in Stowe (Flag "C") and catch I89 (SE or NW) or wait until we get up to Irasburg at the extreme north of the route (Flag "D") and shoot over to I91 (N or S) in Orleans, VT.

For approximate planning purposes, we should be finished with lunch at Gracie's Restaurant in Stowe at ~ 1:30PM (hopefully), and we should be in Irasburg (Bailout #2) at ~3PM. The full route loop will take us back to The Fireside Inn at around 6:30 PM. Yes, Tom has got us a full-day of Vermont route planned. :yahoo:

I'll also post up some links (in this thread) to download GPS formatted route files, sometime before the actual ride.
